Hayden to Honda GP, B Bostrom to US Honda - Confirmed

According to amasuperbike.com it was revealed at the Honda convention that Nicky Hayden will partner Valentino Rossi on the Repsol V5 MotoGP Honda next year. What does this mean for Ukawa? And interesting, that means no Japanese rider on the factory Honda team, maybe 3 bikes?

And Ben Bostrom has been confirmed to ride alongside Miguel DuHammell and Kurtis Roberts at American Honda next year in the AMA Superbikes. I guess expected, still unfortunate, but if he knuckles down and has a good year, does well as a wildcard at Laguna (remember 99) maybe we could see him back on the world stage in '04.
Question - after seeing Bostrom win 5 straight in 01, did anyone expect he would be back in AMA's in 2003, he was looking odds on to join Bayliss in MotoGP then.

Hayden coming to MotoGP is good news - I haven't seen much of him, but from everything I've read he is brilliant and an exceptional talent.

As for Bostrom, it's a real shame that he's going home to the AMA, but after the problems he's had this year, most appearing to be psychological, it might do him some good to return for 2003 and return in 2004 rejuvenated.

Hayden did well this year, he won a big battle with Eric Bostrum to win the AMA crown. As for Ben, what went wrong? 5 on the trot and not even a glimmer this year. I think Michelin ae to blame. Dunlop haven't really looked like winning this year either. Dunlop have fallen behind and need a big stride up to catch up. Hodgson has shown Dunlops start well but fade away because he too won races last year.

great to see nicky in moto gp..... badluck for ben, but there are plenty of great riders riding at national level and the ama field is just as fierce as wsb

heard that in 2003 only ducati and honda are fielding ama superbike teams - no suzuki, kawasaki or yamaha.....

Can't believe it that Ben was no longer the rider for the Ducati team. Yes, its a shame that he wasn't doing well this year.
