Nice to the Morgan finishing in 6th place I hope it got as much support this weekend as it did at Le Mans last weekend, because for me it was on of the stars of the show and I hope they are back next year.

TVRfan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
it was a good race apparently. TVR retired from first place good result for Simon and Martin again though, looking stronger for the championship every round. Excellent result for the morgan though and a well deserved podium for the Harmon Kardon Tuscan.

A good race but one which was marred by an horrendous accident involving Tony Littlejohn and Geoff Lister. Both drivers were hurt, miraculously not too seriously and both cars are total write-offs.

2nd lap at Camp corner. Calum and Tony Littlejohn touch, sending Tony into a spin, the No8 Saleen comes through the corner and tried to avoid the spinning Porsche, but unfortunately neither could avoid each other. Tony is lucky that he sat on the left of the car.

Thankfully both drivers are OK, although it was a scary incident.

Last info I had was that Tony has a broken arm, Geoff a very sore leg (he was taken to hospital afterwards to have himself checked over - It could easily have been much worse.

An update - Geoff has fractures in both legs plus ligament and tendon damage - he had surgery last night but is home now

Tony's arm isn't broken but he is under observation at hospital.

The impact speed was 112 mph, thank god the end result wasn't far worse.

THR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
that was a hell of a smash! cos the saleen was going much faster than the surrounding cars, having spun on lap one and going up throu the field saw the spinnning ferrari, went inside, and came across a stationary 911.
ouch!!!
glad to hear they are both okish.

was a good race tho. puts boring touring cars in there place
even the free practice on sat morning was good! bit of grass cutting here and there!!

rd,
Sorry to disagree with you but I felt the Morgan was a total embarassment and was totally unprepared to grace such a great race.
And as for Coombe,my 8 year old son nicely summed it up when he said,"why is there a funny wedding car in with the proper racing cars!!!"enough said

PM,

I think it's a great car and has surprised many a person this year. At Le Mans it completed 16 1/2 hours, thats over a whole season of a British GT season!!. But you are entitled to your oppinion.

It adds to the GTO field as it's not another Porsche or Ferrari, and at Le Mans it got further than many of those I've just mentioned.

Jason,
Yes,I admit anything different to a Porsche is good news.
And yes it did last 161/2hours but that was after a complete axle swop after a few laps which kept it in the pit fr about 2 hours while all the rest of the class were racking up lap after lap.
And even if it lapped quicker than an Audi,it still looks ridiculous with the Handy Andy built hardtop.
Think I may enter a Fiat Toppolino next year,or a motorcycle combination.

PS,
At Castle Coombe it was the last car out of the pits for the morning warm up and then broke after two laps

Go with the motorcycle combination, you could enter with a Norton

So it was the last out in the warm up, the session is not compulsory. The team were from my understanding, having spoken to Richard Stanton a few minutes before the start of the race, going out for fun. And how did it breakdown after 2 laps?

They are a great bunch of guys, and I wish them the best for the rest of the season and beyond - who knows 2 Morgans at LM in 2003?

Not a Morgan fan then!?!

Its a new car, it's getting better and better and, whilst they've got a way to go yet on the handling front, they were reasonably quick this weekend. More power to them I say.

I am sorry you feel like this but I feel, that the car should have been at Le Mans, yes it is a funny looking, but it sounds great and I do not feel that it was an embarassement as it lasted a lot longer than some cars that where run on much bigger budgets and had professional drivers. I can not wait see it and maybe another one, on the grid, hopefully, again next year, when hopefully it can the Porsche's a run for there money.

Let's hope a few more marks have taken note and enter car at Le Mans next year, I would love to see a TVR on the grid.

What! No way. The moggie looked cool with the LM grime on it. I can remember the winning McLaren F1 GTR turned up at Goodwood the week after, boy did it look good
