Still early in the week but I think the festive period may dry up the news (unless your Rob Austin then im sure many a spirit will flow)

Interesting to see about HARD having a choice of 6..... wonder who

Back to Motorbase and their rumoured new sponsor. Is it possible that the original poster heard it wrong and they're having a surreal sponsor next year?

Is it confirmed that Andy Jordan left Motorbase because Pirtek collided with their new sponsor? Or were those just rumours?

So would their new sponsor be another 'Fluid Solutions Provider' (= conflicting sponsors) or just another brand that'd require main branding for all 3 cars leaving no space for Pirtek (= conflicting spaces)?

The press release didn't say. Just that there was a conflict around commercials and sponsor requirements.

I suspect it will be driven by the livery of the cars and paddock hospitality/activities.

BTW what ever happened to Nic Hamilton ? thought that financing a BTCC drive would be just pocket money for brother Lewis

I thought Nic Hamilton said he wanted to be seen as a driver in his own right and not just as Lewis' little brother. Asking big bro to fund him doesn't really help achieve that aim.

It's interesting to read BTC's plans that they want to become a constructor in their own right. That's one of the best things about the BTCC, the variety of cars people are prepared to run

Part of me feels that a certain Irishman with links to a certain Warren Scott might fit in well there and increase their chances given his experience howeveri would also love to see him pop up in his ex team motorbase

My thoughts exactly.... bet you can't beat three?

Three is a key number for Shredded Wheat. No room at the inn for Pirtek.

The eye-catching Shredded Wheat livery and new-look driver line-up are set to be revealed to both trade and public at the Autosport Show on January 12-15 2017.

does that mean that the livery pictured is not the final version ?

Could just mean the drivers, not the livery, will be revealed then.

Anyway, I like the look, get's straight the point. But bigger than that, amazing that such a household brand is getting involved with the BTCC. Well done Motorbase.

What I read on motorsport.com it says: "Motorbase Performance has re-signed Mat Jackson for the 2017 BTCC season, and will run with a new title sponsor after entering into a multi-year deal with Nestle breakfast cereal brand Shredded Wheat." I take that to mean that it is sponsoring the team, but Matt Jackson is the only driver so fat to be confirmed.
As far as the livery is concerned, I don't think that it matters what "we" think of it. If the company who are paying for it are happy with what it looks like, and happy that it will get them the required exposure, then it will mean more properly funded cars on the grid which has got to be good for the racing, and therefore "us".
