Mike Gascoyne is leaving Jordan & will be a considerable loss. It is no coincidance that when he joined mid-way through '98, Jordan's season turned around & they won their first GP.
Will HHF stay around now there are no works engines in the pipeline?

He's obviously seen a new path to the top!

I suspect Jordan may yet surprise us with their future plans.

I suspect they'll surprise us by taking some pigsh*t customer engine hiring some hotshot newcomers only to lose them to bigger teams a which point eddie will sell the whole package to sony, who will by then also own ford, bmw, chrysler, daimler and most of finlands dna.
I fear we've seen the peak from eddie and the boys.

I do worry slightly about where Jordan's engine is going to come from for next season, if BAR do continue to do well. However, I suspect that what we are seeing is just a slight dip in form, they're too good a team to have peaked and begin a Brabham-style collapse...

Maybe this is where Bernie's idea of engine manufacturers supplying a minimum of 2 teams would be beneficial. Even though two different teams would have identical engines, the variables of $$$, chassis, drivers etc. would mean the 'works' team would probably still get the best from it. But it also means the possibility of the 'non-works' team getting a good result as well as having some stability. Having BAR and Jordan using the same powerplant would be great. Mercedes/McLaren and Prost/Mercedes, Ferrari/Ferrari and Sauber/Ferrari, Toyota/Toyota and so on...
