There is nothing unfair about getting to win when you have the best car. What would be unfair is if they were given a boost reduction during the season to eliminate that advantage. And it doesn't make it boring either; we get a great championship battle between Colin Turkington and Jake Hill, two of the best on the grid. And Tom Ingram was not far behind of course, despite having no hybrid, so there is little evidence that the BMWs are quicker anyway. It is very possible that Ingram could win race two tomorrow, and could still win the championship. I also think the Fords will get there soon and could be in the title battle, while the Dynamics Hondas were good in Donington.

I do believe that Jake Hill will be the champion this year, but that doesn't make it unfair or boring.

I think the driver still plays a part, but the car still needs to be competitive. Let's not forget that even though the Infiniti was a title winner, it wasn't completely dominant

The Infiniti has always been a dog of a car. It was only successful because it had an elite level driver in it whos driving style/preferred set up enabled the issues with the car to be driven round to make him virtually unstoppable. A bit like the Subaru before it.

Ingram sort of blew his own arguement in that interview before when he said no deployment for qualy cost him 3 - 4 tenths...

Considering Colin had 9 secons of Hybrid (I think it was) - he finished 2.3 Tenths ahead of Ingram - so on that basis, hybrid corrected that would put the Hyundai and BMW pretty close.

It's interesting to see how that 'unfair advantage' is playing out.
At the time this point was made, the highest placed BMW in each championship was:
Drivers' - 5th
Manufacturers' - 3rd
Teams' - 6th
Independents' - 1st
Independents Teams' - 1st
Jack Sears - 2nd

After Race 1, the only improvement is Gamble up to 1st in the JST.

The WSR drivers must be useless if they can't use the advantage they have been given?

Spot on. It's clear the Focus doesn't suit Ash as well as the Subaru or Infiniti. Cammish seems to be handling it better atm
