Homebush is ON???
there is a report on page 3 of thursdays daily telegraph that the V8's are almost certain to be racing at homebush bay from 2007 for 5 years.
Premier Morris Iemma has backed the plan and has approval from cabinet. V8 supercars australia and sydney olympic authority have presented the detailed 3.4km track to the premier. The 1st race would be in the 2nd half of 2007 with the government backing the event financially. there will be a poll on www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph asking is the race a good idea. |

So does this race replace Oran Park or is it a new race to add to our small championship.

So will this ensure Eastern Creek misses out again or Oran Park.
As said before this wont help Australian motorsport in anyway but will line the pockets of VE$A shareholders nicely. |

Its only a kilometre from where I am sitting now. I can charge parking for the weekend (not Friday, its full of business cars ) for a large fee

There could well be a race car on the streets of Sydney Olympic Park before the end of the year.

MNews Platinum new site confirms and adds that the race will be the new Grand Finale in early December. Clipsal to start the year, Homebush to finish it, looks like a good calendar to me

Another great circuit for spectators
I see some good spectator vantage points..........OH no sorry, they will be taken up by the corporate boxes. Another waste of a v8 event. |

Wow, as a final race that is pretty special.
I think its cool, but only because I live in Sydney. I hope they still go to Oran Park. This might force me to attend my first V8 Supercar event yet... |

A great day for V8 Supercars,a day that does nothing for and may even harm all other motor sport in NSW and a terrible day for NSW tax payers.

this would have to be the most Pathetic looking track i have ever scene. A great bonus for al of the over taxed NSW people. |

Seriously, I worked trackside at all but the 1st F1GP and haven't bothered to make the long drive over for the "Clipsal" as it's only a V8 race, mind you I did drive over to work at the AMRS at AIR a few weeks ago so I'm not really that picky what I work at. The Clipsal has only 1 corner of any value and everyone complains about it but if they get serious and go back to the old F1 layout and Bannana, Stag & Brewery Bends are brought back it might almost be worth the trip |
