2007 Motorola Indy Grand Prix “Pick ‘em” Contest
Infineon Raceway – Sun., August 26

DEADLINE FOR PICKS: Friday, August 24, at 7 p.m. (GMT) or approx. 10 a.m. on Friday, August 24, in California…That is when the first practice session will begin.

PLEASE Get them in Before the Deadline

--- The IRL returns to the 2.3 mile, 12-turn natural road course at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California….a classic American road-racing circuit, handling is more important here than horsepower is…..should be a great test for the drivers, the cars and the Series.

The event is 80 laps and 184 miles

here are your REVISED qualifying results (with NAC's Picks):

No one had Dario on the pole

drdisque was closest to the pole speed: Actual - 107.951 dr - 107.979 (Nice Pick!)

In the "Top Six," OpenWheel had 7 pts, NAC had 6 pts., flavinha, drewdawg and drdisque had 5 each and Peno had 4 pts.

I gave 1 pt. each to NAC, Flavinha, drewdawg, Peno & drdisque for Sarah Fisher for the slow speed as is the custom of this contest...

Flavinha, NAC, Peno & drdisque all got 1 pt. each for having a driver in the Top Six as the "Just Miss" pick

Here are your REVISED race results (With NAC's Results Included):

Flavinha, NAC, and Peno had Dixon to win for 2 pts.

In the "Top Five," Flavinha, NAC, and Peno all had 6 pts each, OpenWheel & drewdawg had 4 pts each and drdisque had 3 pts.

drewdawg had Kanaan for the Fast Lap for 2 pts.

NAC was was closest to the speed: Actual 106.767 NAC - 106.555

In the "Milestones," drewdawg got 6 pts, Peno 4 pts. and NAC, OpwnWheel & Flavinha had 2 pts each.

drewdawg picked Ryan Hunter-Reay as 1st out for 2 pts.

I scored Dixon, Meira or Manning (who all moved up 4 spots each) as the "Mover" and NAC had Meira for 2 pts.

No one had Ryan Hunter-Reay as the as the "Fall" guy - 7th-18th

Flavinha was closest to the avg. speed: Actual - 98.593 Flavinha - 104.321

Final Results:

1. NAC - 20 pts. (won tiebreaker)
2. drewdawg - 20 pts.
3. Flavinha - 19 pts.
4. Peno - 18 pts.
5. OpenWheel - 15 pts.
6. drdisque - 12 pts.

Again, I'm sorry for the screw up this weekend on the picks.

OK Tim now I know I'm not going crazy. When you posted qualifying I didn't get a mention (just thought I had crap pickings and didn't deserve points) and now the results come out and I got nothing?? I even had Mr Dixon for the win.

Tim, not to correct you, but you are wrong with one of the picks.
I do not deserve the two points for picking Marco as the fall from grace. He only fell 8 spots, while RHR fell from 7th to 18th (11 spots).

NOTE:

I have edited the results from qualifying and the final race results to reflect NAC's selections.

He actually won this weekend via a tiebreaker.

Again, I am very sorry for this oversight and will take greater care in the future to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
