I used a can of B&Q flouresent yellow acryllic paint firstly and then black tape for the outline. I didn't prime the plastics first which would have given a brighter effect but I knew that within 2 or 3 races it will be covered in tyre marks from other competitors ! With tape it is easy to replace the stripes when they are 'rubbed'.
The paint took really well to the crash helmet too, I gave it around 6 coats rubbing down with a resin polish each time to keep the finish nice and smooth. |
