Lammers recently said there will be some announcements soon. They have been busy with their new workshop (see article on janlammers.com).

Lammers visited Dome in Japan last week. See full article www.janlammers.com (only in Dutch)

hopefully this means that Dome is currently working on a new LMP1 and that RfH will run the car... i think it was pretty dumb of lammers to not run in the LMES in 04 for the reasons he gave. hope he is able to reverse his mistake and run in 05!

If you haven't the money you can't race.

You're right, Fire. Accoording to the 'Ask-Jan' section (only Dutch) the only reason for not competing in LMES in 2004 was lack of money. They would love to do LMES in 2005 but all depends on funds.
btw. I don't think Dome is working on a new car: Dome is doing a lot of windtunneltesting for 'new technical updates' on the car. |

Somehow I don't think it'll be quite like that. More like just a further development. Not like the Pesca Courage or anything.
Have RfH been having lots of money issues lately then? I agree though it would be good to see them in the LMES, but not if that means the funds for LM in future years dries up... |

Hmmm, dailysportscar is reporting a Mugen-Dome-hybrid works car for next year. Think Jan is looking at the new car for possibilities using his Judds? (I'd hope that, if he's upgrading the cars, he'd consider going with the GV5 as well)

well the reason Lammers gave for not running was that there was an unfair advantage with the P675 cars (read: Zyteks) and thats why he wasn't competing... hope he gets some funds (isn't there any corporations in the Netherlands with some cash?) and races in 05

It was both reasons, the explanation was in "A message from Jan Lammers" on the planetlemans website.

lmsr.net is posting today a confirmed Dome Works team for Le mans 2005 with an hybrid version. Maybe Lammers is also on the move with a judd engined hybrid.

Its good to hear Dome comes with a factory team, but I wonder what that means for Jan. He was the number 1 customer/factory team. I really hope he will be able to get finances together. So come on Dutch corporations! Investing in a F1 farce as Robert Doornbos at 100.000 euro's for a training lap is stupid. Give Jan a chance to win.. Its not impossible this year!

what this means for lammers is that we probably wont see him racing in 2005, but a positive prospect is that Lammers will recieve a very well sorted Dome hybrid for 2006 from the factory.

I guess you're right then Paul.
S101-Hb sounds rather like hybrid to me. I suppose it will be built to the latest rules then? |

looks like Dome have fallen out of love with Lammers - maybe he's run his course. As they say all things come to an end.

not so much fallen out of love as Dome wants to run their own factory effort in 2005. as of now i would still expect to see lammers running dome hybrids in 2006

I think you're all jumping to conclusions a bit too soon. This Dome article says a lot about Dome's plans for next season, but nothing about Lammers IMHO. We'll have to keep watching the Jan Lammers website for his latest plans, making statements based on "no info" is really not very much of use...and after all: It's not the first time Jan surprised everybody with some nice last minute plans...

What we know: Lammers visited Dome recently. Dome is doing an hybrid. Dome is running a factory effort, not related to Jan's efforts.
All else is speculation, as you said. I'd be surprised if Jan went all the way to Japan and didn't have a hard look at the hybrid, though. |
