Ah yes, that all being connected with Ecclestone's redevelopment plan in opposition to the other one which involved housing etc...

Where did you find the plan?

Nicky drew that plan up based on what's being said I believe Suze.

The plan was in Autosport today - the track will be similar to Bristol or Martinsville apart from the banking, which as Nicky said will be 12 degrees in order to fit in more space for spectators. It's aimed towards the SCSA, which is interesting because the SCSA is struggling to survive ATM from what I've heard. Good idea, though - shame about the Super Special. I watched the first one on TV back in 97. Great fun

The MSV has a maximum of 12 degrees rule about the banking, and this oval will be the highest banked oval you will get in the UK

Nicki I think you mean the MSA have a ruling of the degree of the banking

It is planned that silverstone will get some sort of oval. However I have heard that it will be in a different place.

I see they are aiming for a crowd capacity of 30,000 for this oval....

It's an interesting idea certainly...

They should run us ten-tenths members around in, in appropriately painted lawnmowers!

As for the plans, very interesting - I'm still skeptical though.

Yes, just a tad.

Even if they got a NEXTEL Cup race there, 30,000 would be pushing the boat. Ovals just don't happen over here, which is a shame.

If they marketed it right.....still wouldn't be 30,000 but may be quite a few...

Saying that, look at Rockingham...

Rockingham isn't a rip roaring success though.......

And this Silverstone oval would be rather slow (like Bristol Speedway used in NASCAR) and I suspect that wouldn't wash with the British public.

I'd go though!
