Don't Panic,Don't Panic,Ferrari were only 34 seconds ahead of the rest of the feild.

1 M Schumacher Ferrari B 58 1h 24:15.757
2 Barrichello Ferrari B 58 + 0:13.605
3 Alonso Renault M 57 + 0:34.612

One would imagine after watching todays race that Bernies blood pressure would be red lining and probably nearing blowing a gasket, after last seasons close racing the wheels seem to have fallen right off now with Ferrari cruising home 34 seconds ahead of the next team, and if MS hadn't done the last few laps in first gear it would have been more like 60 seconds.
Are we looking at a season where Ferrari are going to come close to winning all the races this season, because from what I saw today the rest of the teams look pretty shabby or are Bernie and Max going to get together quickly and tinker with the rules to bring the feild back together again?

and the last 5 laps TGF was doing laptimes of 1.30 and slower(he did'nt have to go any faster), so it could have been much worse.

Doesn't bode well does it? Having said that I dont think it's a poor reflection on the work the other teams have put in close season but a big positive for the professionalism of the Scuderia. The words may stick in my throat but well done TGF and Rubinho and well done Ferrari. Good work fellas!

It looks as though the season will be more similar to 2002 then 2003.

After a few hot races, then if Ferrari are extremely quick, then we can start worrying

Why is everyone going nuts over this Ferrari domination thing?
From 1991-1997 Williams pretty much dominated the field, things change.

Although the Ferrari is clearly a great car, thigns really played into their hands this weekend. Melbourne is a circuit they've always done well at in recent years, and it was cooler than usual - whcih favours the Bridgestones immensely. I don't think Malaysia will be similar - start suspecting Ferrari dominance if it is.

Yes, but we were lucky, because Williams never had the best driver in the field to go with the car...(bar, 2 races)

And plus, c'mon, Mansell factor

Melbourne always exaggerates the best car/tyre package.

Look at Villeneuve in 97 qualifying.

The McLarens in 1998 and in qualifying in 1999.

And none of these went on to dominate the season.

And Hill and Jacques didn't exactly romp away with the title in 96 & 97, and after Monacco in '93 Senna was leading the championship...

I bet Ferrari would love to win every race of the year like McLaren nearly did in 1988.

Actually, that would be something except there are 18 races now not 16!

Well they matched it in 2002 (albeit with one more race).

In 1988 there was only one race McLaren didn't win.

In 2002 there were two races Ferrari didn't win.

I think 15 out of 16 is better than 15/17!

Classic!

By the way, coming up to suzuka, if Ferrari are on an unbeaten roll, do you think we can coax Schlesser out of retirement

lap record on Lap no. 3 with race fuel... geez.. they are quick... and i have a feeling Michelin will have to be better than bridgestone to make sure that we have a good championship

Lets hope Michelin have something up their sleeve.

And lets hope the law of averages sees Schumacher's car have a bit of unreliability this year - he hasn't had a car failure since Hockenheim 2001!!!

Well the laws of probabilities (taken into account previous form) suggests that Ferrari will have decent reliability.

A more positive indicator would be that by lap 51, Michael Schumacher is 53sec ahead of third place Fernando Alonso...which makes it a second a lap... nice!

But i'd maintain the stand that until Ferrari perform THAT impressively for the next few races, there's nothing for the critics/non-fans worry yet.

Yes, it only the first race. Melbourne is pretty unrepresentative.

However, you'd be a brave man to bet against a red car winning the titles.

If Ferrari do dominate, I hope they let their drivers race each other....

They did this time round and Rubens pushed Michael hard to mid-race. Even so, Michael managed to pull a gap and have the legs on RB before RB had some brake probs
