Now this is funny! Roger Penske, Frontiersman! Could you see Chip in a coonskin cap? Gerry Forsythe in buckskins. Derrick Walker setting traps. Dale Coyne trying to find pay foxes to go into his...

I mean, we have been over the thing a billion times and everyone has had their say but comparing the CART team owners to "frontiersmen" is hilarious! I saw Ganassi "remodel" the home he bought here in Fox Chapel and let me tell you, Daniel boone would need a compass to find the bathroom!

Frontiersmen...the whole lot of them each seemed to think that HE was the smartest guy in the room. They all killed the golden goose....

Why Gerry Forsythe (Forsythe Racing) would not be able to return?... He hated Tony George, but he will no longer lead to a series, so the return could be more possible.

When Forsythe lost the tobacco money he lost interest in being an owner. Of anyone's possible return to racing, my guess is that Forsythe's would be the most impossible/improbable. He is very much into the "Andretti Mode" of racing operations: Never put a dime of your own money into the operation.

Okay and As I recall, many of Forsythe Racing engineers were transferred to Andretti Autosport and AFS Racing when team stopped operations. Forsythe Racing last major sponsor Indeck did not have tobacco company.

Just look at the oval racing this season, no more of that pack racing nonsense, the drivers have to control the car.
So all in all = a good car in terms of providing the outcomes desired by the series?

I am not that technically minded so please forgive me if I am wide of the mark however at Indy - all the drivers commented about the large wake left by the new Dallara not a reduced wake compared to that of the old Dallara?

If good racing has been achieved - whats the issue in the long run?

All in all it's an adequate car but a Lola or Reynard it ain't. I didn't hear the driver's comments regarding the car at Indy.

Good racing has been achieved but the issue is the racing was better, the cars were better and it could be better still.

I just came about an article which said Indycar were considering Green-White-Chequered finishes in the style of Nascar. Please, no, don't do that. It is too Nascar, just like standing starts would be too European for Indycar.

This shouldn't happen. It shouldn't happen because it shouldn't happen but it also shouldn't happen because Indycar have been quite good at shunning the NASCAR gimmicks like 'lucky dogs', 'competition yellows' so hopefully they'll shun this. Stop the race once if there's a yellow within, say, three laps before the end if they must.

The racing has been good this season, compared with the last few years, so why go and spoil it with a gimmick?

CART was run by Austrialian bushmen and American frontiersmen whilst the IRL was run by a corrupt monarchy who went on to demand taxes without representation. Well, something like that anyway.

Interesting that the artice does not mention why Coloni is leaving GP2. There not really leaving GP2, their trown out of the championship after this season ends. They'll be excluded from the teamchampionship, so they won't receive any price money for that. No idea what's the reason behind the dispute is though.

Would be nice to see to them in Indycar, but I've heard those story's before and when the first race was there, no team. But I hope they prove me wrong and make it. Furthermore, I think Filippi deserves a shot in Indycar.

I don't see it happening either. It would be like Ganassi doing LeMans high-class even given Ganassi's technical strength in-depth. Transplanting a team transatlantic and starting a sponsorship hunt from scratch is a tall-order in the current climate.

Methinks this is all noise, Coloni having suddenly found themselves flat on their backsides and at a loose end.

One that has been bounced from another series for allegedly registering levels of particular substances outside of official tolerances might not exactly fulfil that criteria

Isnt there an Unser boy or girl hanging around somewhere... not that long ago the field was thick with 'em.. surely they have sporn future racers by now...
