Great racing in GT-Masters today, but the less is said about the support package, the better.

Also, the race director was very trigger happy with the FCY-button, both issues were cleaned up before the safety-car had picked up the leader. I guess that policy is actually quite understandable in the light of this mornings events in Japan, though. Also created an exiciting finish, but also a lot of wrecked cars.

Overall, I was glad I went (first GT-Masters race since 2011), but I really hope they can spruce up their support package for next year. With GT-Masters running relatively early in the day, the further races were really quite anticlimatic.

Off-topic but I am surprised Mercedes didn't create a single make A-Class cup as a support series for DTM (or GT Masters). Of course they have that C-Class car but so far it's only used in Brazil. Are there any in VLN?

Nope... suppossedly they are testing, though. It's a CLA actually, so technically its closer to an A- than to a C-class. Also, they are suppossed to show up in TC3 (if that gets off the ground).

I'm not sure if I'm saddened or relieved to see that this isn't just a problem in the US.

As for this series, I really wish they would follow other SRO series and upload the races to youtube or something. I've checked every place I know and can't find anyone who actually uploads the season, while on youtube occasionally someone uploads one race or something.

Get up early and watch the races live, there are streams available. It would be nice if they had a YouTube channel though, even if it was just archived races.

Finally got around to watching the last races thanks to YT. Those Corvettes have been in another league in the second half. Weird seeing them dominate one of the best GT series considering the road car has been replaced long ago. Wonder if Callaway will have the C7 ready for the start of next season considering the confusing messages from GM.

On another note, while it's cool that Alguersuari stayed for the season, his performance was also a bit disappointing. It wasn't just that he got into a fair number of incidents, that's to be expected, but he just didn't seem all that fast.

Oh god, the ADAC has really sold the TV rights for the GT Masters to Sport1...that means no Jacques Schulz to commentate the GT Masters anymore . At least the races will start on 1.15pm, so there won't be any conflicts with the (in)famous football talk show, which was actually the reason Sport1 "had to" show the Moto2 and Moto3 series on their pay TV channel and probably also the reason they lost MotoGP rights to Eurosport (in Germany, Austria and Switzerland only!).

I really hope that the Sport1 deal doesn't cause any damage to the GT Masters...then again, I find it more and more boring year after year. I guess I'm oversaturated by GT3s

gt masters never planned to race with dtm on the same weekends. if they would, it would be bad for the german tracks. at the moment we have 6 dtm events and 5 gt masters events in germany, if they raced on the same weekend we would lose half of the events.

Yes that's true... But if they both go to Zandvoort and RedBullRing they can make it cheaper by doing it together... But you have a good point, the more weekends, the better!
