****** should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Does anyone agree that with the potential of 26 production cars on the grid they will provide far more entertainment than the modest number of touring cars?

As a spectacle the prod cars will be more entertaining. However, i believe that the tourers will actually be much closer in terms of performance with each other wheras withb the prods i think you will see the Pugs, Barwell Hondas and Alfas pulling away from the rest.

Touring will be more exciting, simply because Steve Soper is going to be driving one of them!

To see Steve Soper knock everyone out of the race except of course his team mates would be a dream come true!

National Saloons last year provided the best tin top racing I've seen since 1994....

I have to expect the same this year..

I've just realised you've got a point there Dan, but i believe with the new regs being somewhere in between production and super touring, and the fact they are new regs, i think the BTCT could be an excellent spectacle.

I have to agree with that statement, I think TV viewers missed a lot of good racing last year because the camera's were concentrated too much on the ST's.

Remeber Oulton Park, when the largest Class B grid of the year was out, and the BBC were live, and the Class B race had no coverage whatsoever!!!!

To be quite honest though, the class B cars are not spectacular to watch, on screen they look very slow compared to the super tourers.

They also are not a spectacle when you watch them at trackside, sure you see plenty of overtaking, but I want to see cars taking the same corners 20MPH faster.

In my view they could improve the spectacle of class b very easily,

1. make the cars loader + beefier
2. Make the cars use fatter tyres
3. improve the look of the cars by making them run compulsary "road spec" wings (ie do bugger all)
4. and lastly all saloon cars should run a
uniform wheel size (say 18" as a compromise)
