It would seem that the big budgets follow Mr Lowndes. I dont know what FPR's budget, we all could guess, but I've heard that Betta resigned to a four year deal at 888 based on Lowndes signature for $16m.

How could WPS Racing even be considered the richest from sponsorship money, its practically the only three letters plastered on the cars, and all out of the owners deep pockets....

Timu,
I'm saying Ford & Holden are the MAJOR major sponsors of the leading teams. WPS get no factory funding so must pick up the tab. |

PWR or Supercheap whatever you want to call the team would have to be one of the richest teams i think.

If you take into account the personal net asset backing of the team principals, then there are several squads with owners worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Good on 'em for making that kind of success in whatever industry they are in. In terms of ourtight sponsorship... well there are a couple of squads operating on around $3.5m per car per season... that would likely be the highest V8Supercar team income on a per car basis. The motor manufacturer for each team contributes a great deal of that money, as do the commercial sponsors.... |

Well to suggest the team has an unlimited chequebook from the parents' business isnt exactly flattering...

Less than $3m per car per team... more than $1.5m per car per team...

Sorry to have to persist GTR - for the V8 SC field (not Konica) in 2004, total dollars spent, what is your informed guess of the % kicked in by Holden for their marque ?
Informed guess again for Ford. I think Holden is not attracting non factory support compared to Ford. |

There have been noises to suggest Hoilden spends more than $20m a year on the category in direct funding of teams, drivers, car preparation facilities....
Ford is said to have fewer programs, but seems to pay well over market to get the same kind of spend number... |

Craig Gore is following a plan which includes an initial big spend. Whether it succeeds in the long term is still to be determined. And from memory, Pirtek get a bargain rate at SBR because the Stone's remember & appreciate the support given to them in the early days of SBR. Whoever was in charge of Pirtek sponsorship all those years ago should get a bloody big bonus cheque! |

I think it will be a toss up between HRT and WPS.
HRT have huge holden backing, and WPS have huge finance backing. What sponsorship is more valuable. I have a feeling that although the Holden money to HRT could be less then the WPS money to WPS, the support Holden gives - not just financial, but technical support - could be more beneficial then the pure financial support that WPS provides. Is there a way of measuring sponsorship effectiveness ? |
