Andrew Gunnell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How many F1 drivers have moved over to the WRC with a works team?

I am not sure which section this should be in.
But, after the former Prost driver Stephane Sarrazin signed for the Subaru WRC team. How many F1 drivers have crossed over to the WRC?

I think Jacky Ickx is one of them. He won the Paris-Dakar in 1987.

And almost forgot the one-off of Jim Clark with a Ford Cortina in... the 1964 RAC Rally? I'm in doubt about this.

Former one-race Williams driver Jean-Louis Schlesser has been a fixture in the Paris-Dakar for years (don't know though if he's ever entered a WRC rally).

Sarrazin is more of a WRC driver than an F1 driver. One GP for Minardi does not a Prost driver make.

Considering that Stephane spent his whoel early career in single seaters, won in F3000 (for the team Alain Prost supported), and spent 5 years as a regualr F1 tester, I'd say he's a F1 driver who switched to rallying, not the other way round. It's such a shame he never got a proper chance in F1, bur it could be WRC's gain.

Indeed.

Stephane probably merited more from F1 than a solitary start - but he's done exceptionally well on his switch to rallying.

Didnt Jean Alesi compete in some rally that included part of the Monza banking a few years back ?

Yes.

But I think Sarrazin is the first to look at it as a serious career, rather than a fun event or one-off appearance.

Any pics from the Monza rally with the banking - particularly of the banking.

Would be good to see an semi-modern F1 driver on the banking - shame it's not an F1 car.

And don't start at me about safety - dreams and fantasies are always 100% safe

Marc Surer drove some rallies, even was almost killed on accident, where his co-driver Michel Wyder lost his life on Hessen Rally 1986, when Surer's Ford RS 200 hit a tree and burst in flames. It was also the end of racing career for Surer.

Both Jim Clark and Graham Hill ran Lotus Cortinas in the RAC. A number of racers took part in rallying in the Fifties, but this was the period where racing drivers ran in a number of races in one day. I did read somewhere Moss did 7 races on a Brands Hatch card - this sometime before he needed Viagra.

Henry Taylor moved from F1 in 1961 to rallying for Ford in 1962 and a successful career as manager there.

Namesake Mike had some privateer events in long-distance rallies in the late 60s and early 70s.

Yes unfortunately they have to spend so long concentrating on one race to be competetive nowadays.

Prost did a rally in an R5 turbo in the early 80's. Alesi did some rallying before F1. And, both Gilles Villeneuve and Patrese drove a Lancia in the Monza rally.

MH usually competes on the Arctic Rally, I do not remember him on a British Rally.

Tom Pryce competed on some British rallies in "The Chequered Flag" Lancia Statos.

Correct, two third places from his home rally, 1980 with Fiat 131 Abarth and in 1985 driving a Peugeot 205 T16.

Both these drivers did compete in the 1979 Giro d'Italia. Patrese won the event three times, but it was not strictly speaking a rally. The event was a mixture of circuit races and rally stages spread over a number of days with rally drivers also taking part. In 1979 Patrese shared a Lancia Beta Monte Carlo with Markku Alen and IIRC Villeneuve's 'team mate' was Walter Rohrl.
