To my eyes a single Audi is a pleasing prospect, and one which has the capacity to satisfy a lot of parties.

It gets them the experience of racing at Sebring with the 2013 R18 - which is invaluable, and wins a huge amount of goodwill for showing up (cue lots of comments about it being the last great race etc), and also, as a single car, gives them the built in expectation management of being able to say it's a start of season toe in the water exercise - so if the unexpected happens it's not necessarily a surprise if Audi don't win.

It also might really encourage some other P1s out of the woodwork - as Rebellion showed this year, beating one works diesel is achievable, it's when there's multiples of them that things get difficult. If you're Rebellion, or JRM, or potentially Oak, assuming they get to grips with the HPD package over the winter, seeing there just being one big hitter to beat makes the prospect of a trip to Florida quite a lot more interesting.

Have to agree about being happy at the one-car entry. Makes sense if they aren't running a brand new car too. They can keep the old chassis on at the track and back-to-back test it against the new stuff.

I'm with you on this. First of all, they don't mention which LMP they will be running, but do mention they are close to signing drivers.... Sebring is only 3 months away, so that is prolly not happening. Fingers crossed they make the AsLMS grid though.

I couldn't believe this, but there were 33 Prototypes in last year's 12 Hours of Sebring.

True - but nine of them was a ALMS PC class, and Sebring was a round both of FIA WEC and ALMS. This year FIA WEC includes only Austin (not Sebring or Petit Le Mans ) - some prototypes from WEC comes only as a test before the regular championship - and in ALMS, number of P1 and P2 prototypes is not very large...

Sorry if I'm reading your question wrong but are you asking what relation each team is to each other?

Enzo Potolicchio and Peter Baron parted ways this off-season and Enzo is running his own team (8star, coming from 8 stars on the Venezuelan flag) running ARX-03b from Champion Racing's old facilities in Pompano Beach.

Both have stated their desire to go the WEC route but both have been rumoured to have been looking at Sebring as a warm up, it's in their own back yard after all. I hope Peter can come up with the funding to get the project going. Enzo there is no doubt.

Maybe no Audi according to Graham Goodwin. He tweeted this evening the plans might be in doubt.

But that AMR would likely be at the race.

I sort of don't care if Audi shows up. If they do we get to see and awesome car and know who is going to win. If they don't it should be quite a fight that is going to be exciting for the overall win.

Muscle Milk and Dyson's endurance performances haven't been great the past couple of years. Rebellion is definitely the favourite!

I think its great news about the possibility of no Audi being present ..... could well lead to a bigger grid , and tempt many outta the woodwork at the thought of a potential win .

Confirmation from DSC, Audi will do their regular test schedule at Sebring after the 12 Hours, but will NOT enter the race itself.
