JMIA was decided to enter Formula 4(Japanese local category).
An interesting controversy has occurred about this matter between Minoru Hayashi and AUTOSPORT(of Japan).
It was a start of the controversy that AUTOSPORT had worried about competing intensification of F4.

AUTOSPORT insisted that
there are a lot of entrants of F4 because the used car can race competitive.
If the new car of JMIA participates, the used car becomes not competitive.
Then, the number of entrants might decrease.

Hayashi objected that
because the F4 machine has not evolved, so the used car is competitive.
The new car of F4 doesn't sell during this year because of that.
This category will disappear if the current situation continues.
And the cost decreases in the future if the carbon monocoque of JMIA is widely used.

Old cars of the aluminum honeycomb monocoque and the new car of the carbon monocoque of JMIA will run together in next year's F4.

Link for their insistence

To make their business, JMIA(Japan Motor-Racing Industry Association) planned the F20 series.
However, the use of the carbon monocoque will be admitted from next year in the Formula 4 series that is a local formula category of Japan.
Then, JMIA decided to develop the vehicle for the Formula 4 series instead of the F20 series.
To my regret, the F20 series was discontinued.

Why is the JMIA monocoque epoch-making?
It is because it is a monocoque made of pure CFRP.
It is not a alminium honeycomb sandwich manufacturing method.
The JMIA monocoque is manufactured by the method of wrapping CFRP prepreg around the mastering model.
The advantage and the fault of the JMIA monocoque are as follows.
(Advantage)
It is possible to manufacture it more cheaply and easily than the honeycomb sandwich manufacturing method.
Because the rigidity is uniform, pick-up point of the suspension can be freely decided.
It is easy to change to the best rigidity for each category by changing the number of sheets of CFRP prepreg.
Because it is not bonded to the honeycomb, the rigidity is not deteriorated.
(Fault)
It is heavier than the honeycomb monocoque.

It is Dome to manufacture the JMIA monocoque.
They will promote the sales of the JMIA monocoque to a variety of single seater categories for which the CFRP monocoque is not used.
Dome will return to Le Mans if their businesses succeed.

JMIA say
The cost of manufacturing is cheap.
F3 monocoque: 3.5 million yen.
FCJ(Formula challenge Japan) monocoque: 2 million yen.
F4 aluminum honeycomb monocoque: 1.35 million yen.
JMIA monocoque: 1.4 million yen.
It is easy to judge whether it is a defect.
It is excellent in durability.
It is excellent in generality.
The safety test in accordance with FIA/F3 regulations is scheduled to be done.
It is a photograph of the wind tunnel experiment of F4.

Up to now, 1.8-liter B18 engine of Honda had been used in F4.
However, the use of 2-liter engine is admitted in the regulation in 2010.
Toda racing supplies the K20A engine of Honda.
Tom 's receives the technical co-operation of Ken Matsuura racing service, and they supply 3ZR engine of Toyota.
These three companies are members of JMIA.
In F4 at the next season, "engine war" starts.

Yeah, although it is easy to get the vehicle's chassis confused with a Sports Car Prototype.

No problem to keep this topic here but I am sure there are people in the single seater forum who are also interested in your news updates.
