Good start by BTC, hopefully it’s a sign of things to come. No surprise Neate is down the bottom off the pace. He’s been out of it for so long, he’s pretty much starting from zero

Matt Neal was also turning laps today, apparently.

Jelley was testing the BMW 1-series at Oulton today, just in case there was any doubts over him being confirmed.
Was Plato at Donington as well or was it just Jackson? If not then has Plato done any testing so far this year. I think that just leaves the new Infinitis and Hyundais that haven't been on track yet. Technically we haven't seen the third new Focus yet either, but there's talk that might be late anyhow. |

I feel it's not really about HARD, it's more about what shapes up for this season. Names of Cicely or MB plus the history of HARD using looong names just accelerated (well...) the need to make fun out of it.

Anyone know if butcher and Jackson had their own car or were they sharing the track time again?

I do hope the fact you need a TOCA licence doesn't stop the Alfa and Subaru from appearing in the next Forza, along with the Merc, 1 series and Audi that they already have. If the licensing requirements are excessive or the cost out weights the benefit developers just won't bother.

Hill was very fast, did a quali run towards the end. Thompson wasn't chasing times but was solid, haven't seen anything of Ingram or Boardley's times. Though everyone is running different programs.

Despite a morning set-back MB Motorsport and Hill were pleased with what they ran through program wise. Jake’s VERY happy in the FK2

So at what point will TOCA make a call on the first round whether it will go ahead or not? Events now being cancelled in the UK.

The way it’s going atm, it seems no event is safe. Hope it goes ahead as planned

I would be surprised if TOCA made that decision themselves. I assume they will take guidance from what the MSA decide, who themselves will be waiting for advice from the government.

considering it has live tv coverage they’d be daft not to consider holding it behind closed doors - even italy’s “lockdown” allows travel for work reasons.

Donington/MSV will take a hit is there are no ticket sales. I assume there will be insurance to cover in the event of a total cancellation; that might not be the case if it goes ahead behind closed doors

Have any events been cancelled that are similar in terms of density though? I have only seen indoor events or stuff in arenas cancelled.

I don't see a huge risk. It's a few thousand people at a predominately outdoor event, where you're free to roam over square miles. As likely to catch it walking down the street.
I can understand the concern for events like football matches or indoor arenas hosting concerts, conferences or similar. |

I would imagine various insurers see the risks very clearly, especially given the information they'll have from other countries.
The risk may be low, but is it low enough that someone who's taking a day off from caring from their elderly/vulnerable/immunocompromised relative then catches the virus on the pit walk or in a restaurant or on the pit walk, and takes it home to said relative? That's the risk PHE are trying to manage at the moment. Instructions will come from outside motorsport. I can see events running behind closed doors if and only if there's a financial crutch provided to those involved, otherwise this season will go down the pan very quickly. |
