Tyres - a sensible solution

.

Hi All,

I would dearly read your appreciated opinions about the following;

We've recently changed our attitude concerning the use of racing tyres. Although I still believe, that historic racing cars should use historic racing tyres, you will recognize that there are enough people who don't share my opinion. We have now come up with - what I think, could be - a sensible solution, whereas cars on modern and quicker tyres will race in quicker classes. On the contrary, cars on spokes could easily be invited to race in a more competitive class, because of their handicap. Those who will race on Avons, Dunlop Historic or real and 70 section road tyres, will race in their usual class.

What do you think?

It sounds like a good step forward Pieter as long as it doesn't cost you entries from some of the drivers on historic tyres.

Hi Tim,

What I am interested in, is to present racers with a level playing field. This is the very reason that I am organizing the F.I.S.C. Legendary Circuits Series more and more based on speed, rather than engine capacity.

This will protect the die hard historic racer from cars racing on modern tyres. Under circumstances this will even blow 'new life' into the competitiveness of cars on spokes.

This kind of organizing will respect all tyre choices, either historic or modern tyres and I hope it will bring a lot of joy to everybody concerned.

Cheers, Pieter
