Speaking of Mr Jordan I will be interested to hear what he has to say about the current state of F1 and could he be a successor to Bernie if you wanted an F1 insider.

Mind you it should be good news for at least some of the staff and will give Haas a lot of much needed facilities plus a few dollars from Bernie for the 2 points at Monaco. Not to mention a lot of current F1 know how.

Buying either of the existing teams would require him to race next year, and he is waiting (wisely I think) until 2016. Sure, he would get his hands on their gear, their IP but he would also have to pay off all of their debt (or a large chunk).
If Hass wants anything from the two teams, he is better off waiting for them to be liquidated and purchasing the gear then. He doesn't need the IP as the cars were crap anyway. He doesn't need the entry as he already has one. He probably doesn't need a lot of their equipment has he would have much of it from his other pursuits, and probably have deals with companies to supply him at a discount any way. |

he wants to build in America, and has indicated he has a five year plan before he expects to really get into the challenging position. He has said he would consider it a mark of respect if he became the defacto Ferrari 'B' team, but that is not his goal. If he bought Marussia he would also get the $60 million that will come to it through finishing in the 9th place in the championship (as the points currently stand). what he would need to do is weigh up if taking it over would match with his goals and if the debt surrounding the team wouldn't offset any savings in costs. His new marketing man did very well while employed at Budweiser and Bud Light might seem a perfect match in blue white and red....but are they interested in selling internationally outside the US? |

Mr Haas is too busy giving media interviews about how Marussia and Caterham 'made mistakes' in their F1 campaigns Here
You might have thought Mr Haas might be a little bit humble, given that his F1 team is still on a piece of paper, and hasnt turned a wheel in anger. Certainly he doesnt acknowledge that the garagiste teams are forced to make their decisions on the basis of what is in front of them, they slither their way from decision to decision, from engine partners, from driver choice and the like, just to keep the lights on in some cases. Much easier if you just keep writing cheques most likely, but that gets old pretty quick... |

I bet Graeme Lowdon could have a good conversation with him about that how flipping tough it is at the back of the grid... |
