FIA-GT : Zuhai's race, 14th of November

Is it me or nobody seems to care about the last rounnd of the 2004 FIA-GT circus ? Except the thread Asa posted here about the Nissan...

A nice entry list, though, for next sunday...

Enjoy ! We'll have to wait until Januar for the first GARRA round, and March for ALMS ! Not talking about FIA-GT and LMES...

I hate those winter breaks...

The Nissan is going to be driven by Ben Collins and Neil Neil Cunningham and is back by local British GT team Embasssy Racing. I also see that GruppeM (British GT Champions this year) are on the entry.

I used to be a huge fan of the Paris-Dakar in the early 80' (Cyril Neveu, the four first races winner, was born and raise in the same town as me, Orléans)...

But not anymore

Yeah man! Zhuhai FIA GT is one of my rare home internationals! It will be the first time the Maseratis competes for points, too! Let's see if they have really been sandbagging.

Something tells me that the Vitaphone Saleen will win this one.

You've got a couple of local stars racing as well. Look out for Marsh and Kwan in the Ferrari...

Thanks, it does seem a shame that Eurosport are not having live streaming of this event like they did for the other races, not even sure if I'll see any coverage here in the UK.

looks like race is over. Maserati 1-2

congrats...

wow, season is now over. overall, it was a much better season than 2003, a lot more competition to the BMS 550's (Vitaphone Saleen and Maserati's) next year will hopefully be more of the same... I personally hope to see better reliability out of the Konrad Saleens. it almost seemed as though this year was worse for them (only 6 finishes for the Vitaphone car out of 11 races, and only 2 finishes out of 11 for the Yellow 4 car). I really hope they can get that worked out before next year.. especially since they are planning on entering 4 cars! (2 vitaphone, 1 Stanco and 1 Konrad) we will have to see on that though. 4 cars seems a little too mich to handle.

it all starts over again in April. I cant wait!!!

Race results here for anyone interested. There should be a race report on the same site. So, a formation 1-2 for Maserati. What does that tell us? Although the Bobbi/Gardel Ferrari took fastest lap.

There’s only one main thing I want to see next season...

...Walter Lechner Jr with another pro!

Oh yeh, and more Saleen Victories

Congrats to Cappellari/Gollin for their successful year and to Maserati for the final victory of the season, next year should be very interesting...

I too only managed to catch half the programme, kept channel flicking because Tennis was on when FIA GT should have been! Ah well. Anyway, yeah a Maserati 1-2 - but on the plus side of things the #1 BMS car did finish on the same lap as the Maserati's, and could have possibly won the race if it wasnt for a more lengthly pitstop than normal during the 2nd stop of the 3 to add water to the car due to brake problems. Still, they didnt have a 100% free run and thats the end of it, but the fact remains if it wasnt for the problems the car could have well split the 2 Maseratis and possibly have beaten them.

Now looking towards 2005, hopefully more of the same, only this time with Aston Martin there too for some of the year. Next years Spa 24hrs is going to be a cracker!

Ref lambos :It will take some time and I really don´t think it´s only the engine that´s lacking...

ref Saleens :appalling reliability still ,and my words of concern from earlier this year where fully met unfortunatelly.Having 4 cars next year won´t help matters,as this winter the konrad crew has to build cars instead of developing them and thru the season they have bags of work to master to keep them running as is.not the best move ever .Did they recruit additional workforce yet?
