750mc F4 - who's running what?
Hi, I've looked at the results on the 750mc website but can only find out what cars people are running. I'm trying to find out what engine set-ups people are running as there is a lot of choice in the regs. Can anyone tell me what is quick, or are they all fairly equal in class A?
Cheers. |

Nope. Not eligible on several grounds - engine, number of gears, carbon monocoque. You may be allowed to be in the Invitation Class, but I don't know what the requirements are for that.
Other than that, BARC Formula Renault or Monoposto, plus perhaps SEMSEC (they are desperate for entries, and are mainly at Lydden or Brands). There are a few Libre series too - an Irish one is very popular. |

For value for money go for a pre 2000 FR Tatuus TC98 or TC99 on pace in class A with the right mods - about 50% of a modified FFZetec
Or buy a standard Class C FFZetec and do Mono1800 too plus SEMSEC and a few stand alone races like the Festival. |

Actually, I'm looking to build from scratch. I'm looking at building a bike engined based car, but I was wondering about the competitiveness of the laguna engine/box etc in F4. I get the feeling that there aren't any competitive bike engined cars in F4.
I am considering mono too, but I think that building to F4 spec would be cheaper as the engine regs in F4 require an older bike engine and an open diff keeping costs down. |

To what rules does one build an F4 car? What clubs currently recognize F4? What are tires, engine age and size limits, brakes, etc?
Thanks, NIKT |

Mono is more suited to bike engines.
I would think the engine to have in F4 this season will be a Duratec..... |
