Jack Perkins
Jack Perkins finished 7 th in his FF debut this weekend. He then followed it up with a 6th and a 15th in Races 2 & 3. I don't know what happened in the last race but his name did not appear at all.
I wonder how long it will be before he appears in a V8 Supercar possibly in the "Lites" series. |

I should have added that he is running a RF92 which he is working on himself. Larry is not giving him an easy ride into the sport, which i feel is a good thing.

Well done! Its quite an older chassis compared to those he is playing against...
Isnt Mr Perkins appearing in a Castrol-branded Aussie racer this year? |

Or maybe he couldn't get a franchise to do the Aussie Racing Cars I don't know why he wasn't there today though. |

How long has young Jack got before we get sick him and label him a SORF?
What was the time limit with the others? At what point do we dismiss someone because of parentage and cease to measure them like we'd measure any other driver? |

If Jack works it the hard way, and doesnt get the 'Steven' easy ride to the top... i will respect him as much as any other driver out there

No we won't, but thats alright.
By 'Steven' I take it you mean Steven Johnson who spent several years on the sidelines because he couldn't get a drive other than with Holden privateers of fly by night operations that folded before the season was out and enduros slots, and yet was the top performed Ford driver just four years ago and made the top ten last year? Far too many pick on Steven Johnson because he's a soft target. And because somebody had to be slugged with Rodney Forbes role as series whipping boy. If James Brock had made the main series by now then Steven Johnson probably wouldn't gethalf as much criticism as he does. Or did you mean Steven Ellery? Or Steven Richards? Or Steven Seton? Steven Skaife? Steven Kelly? Or (son of Rod) Steven Stevens? |

And exactly my point. He's been given the Forbes/Romano whipping boy role because someone had to have it, may as well be Jr.
We could have 32 Lowndes' running around in the field, but one of them would still be picked on and bullied by fans, simply because they feel they have to. Its not fair, and probably falls under the mystery 'un-Australian' tag, but its human nature. And human nature has NEVER been fair. |

WK: that's a mistype by myself. The 'of' should be an 'and'. The fly by night team I was referring to was the Dark Blue & Red Falcon Junior drove half a season in as #95, whose specifics I can't immediately recall.

Wasn't that a third-string DJR-run car in "Racing for Life" colours?

The car was, the team wasn't IIRC. The money disappeared well before it was supposed to.

Cavvy: ummm, yeah I want my father to instantly turn into a great past racing driver name and give me a wonderful career being told what to do by mechanical engineers...
Mechs pffft. Bet you couldn't build a highway to save yourselves! More seriously Cavvy - an attempt at a pre-emptive strike against tall poppyism, and whipping boy-ism. Chances of making an impression? None, but at least its said and a burst of niave idealism once again falls on the sword of the cynical... |

I suppose Jack will be labelled a SORF when he doesn't perform.
Until then, he's avoiding the tag. |
