I heard that, and wondered which teams are left for Andy to go to...BMR?

I would say he'll be back in Eurotech, however I still think he should stay in BMW.

I don’t think he’ll go to Eurotech, it’s not the same Eurotech he left. If he did, maybe that’s why Jeff isn’t sponsoring his own team next year? 3 Pirtek Civics?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jordan/Pirtek to run a 3rd new civic run by Dynamics as Jordan has been chasing after better cars and teams now for a few years.
We know WSR didn't want to run a car under a seperate sponsor but drivers and or funds meant a deal was struck with Jordan and Pirtek backing for the 3rd car. So if Jordan moves on again to say Dynamics or elsewhere will WSR be able run 3 cars next year again? Also if Plato leaves BMR to go back to a front wheel drive car then his options are pretty limited most likely. Either a new car and manufacturer on board or going to a smaller independant team. There are a few drivers these days that have limited options for drives and teams to race for especially those who keep on moving teams. Plato usually moves team when he brings a new deal to the table. So maybe he could be bringing something new to the table again. Jordan just chases a faster better car and team for results now. |

And given the job Ash has done in the Scooby would make sense that Jordan will see it as A possible step up from the BMW again. Mind he saw the MG as a step up from his Civic, he saw the BMW as a step up from the MG. |

I think AJ has had a good season and should have no problem finding a seat next season

The most interesting thing is if AJ leaves WSR, will they be able to field three BMWs without Pirtek sponsorship? I bet it's highly unlikely unless they find a big sponsor who will sponsor all three cars. I doubt BMW will finance the three-car team. I don't know how big is BMW's financial support for WSR but fully financing a three-car team is beyond any expectations.

A few people at Brands I've spoken to think AJ is moving.
This is pure speculation on my part: AJ back to Motorbase to replace Tordoff or Cole. The three identical cars is not a thing Shredded Wheat are insisting on, as proven this year. If it's Tordoff (who apparently is unimpressed with reliability) then he may take his backing back to WSR. Maybe Tordoffs and BMWs backing could be used to harmonise the livery across three cars? Or if its Cole who is off then maybe 2 x Shredded Wheat Gallagher GardX cars for Tordoff and Chilton... Brett & Jack are both wanting to continue at Eurotech - horses mouth on this. So no room for AJ unless a TBL is acquired. And a car... Which takes me to a whisper about Dynamics building up a pair of FK8's - so potentially new cars for them and the existing off to??? My leg may have being getting pulled on this one. Believe it when/ if I see it. Bye bye BMR after today? |

Just to sell them to another team and build a new pair seems very unlikely. Selling a pair to another team I imagine would not cover the costs of building a new pair so what would be in it for Dynamics. Last edited by Pringles; 30 Sep 2018 at 13:42. |

If another team is offering to buy two from them, why not build and supply? A second pair in other hands could also speed up the development. |

Just a thought, if AJ is chasing a better car, could we see him in a Speedwork's Toyota next year?

What about Pirtek Racing with new Corollas and AJ and Tingram behind the wheels? That would be great to see! Speedworks are punching above their weight and with a big sponsor, two new cars and two good drivers they could become a true force of BTCC, not just a cinderella they are now.

Look at all the teams that have expanded above 2 cars and struggling to make ends meet etc. |

It may not affect things but interestingly I’ve heard JCT600 are losing the BMW franchise. |

So - before I post my (very long and very wrong) full prediction list, I thought I'd leave my thoughts on what I would like to see regulation wise:
- Remove the option tyre. A gimmick that the BTCC doesn't need and races shouldn't be determined by tyre choices. - Subarus. With all the controversy and negativity regarding them I think the championship would benefit from outlawing them. How, I don't know. - Reverse Grids. The extended draw was never actually utilised; I would rather they just always reverse the top 10. - Maybe give a few extra points (between 2-5) for pole position and fastest laps? - Add an extra championship for the 'supergrid': based off qualifying averages. Think Cammish would've won it this year. - I think the success ballast is fine, as Cammish proved today it can be minimized with a good chasis and set-up. Maybe reduced a little bit to 50-60kg max? - Another interesting thought would be a tiny weight break for 3-box saloons: bar the Avensis the front is dominated by hatchbacks so an insentive to run a 3-box may add some (more) variety on the grid? All my opinions, of course! |

I would love to see AJ join Tingram at Speedworks, especially with works backing from Toyota

Very much 3+2 making eleventh. Did anybody catch Fifth Gear lately where the presenters collectively tested the updated Dacia Duster? The overall view was quite good but particularly Mr Plato was effusive in his praise for the brand and the car. Even going as far to point out a turbocharged petrol engine was coming out in 2019.
Seeing as he has history of pulling together things from scratch, could he be working on something involving a team fielding Dacias on the grid next year? Silly season is underway but if it happens you heard it here first! |

Well Dacias are very inexpensive, maybe that's all the budget can stretch too these days?
Plato and James May in a pair of Dacia Sandero Stepways... |

Plato ending his BTCC in Renault has a certain symmetry to it and Dacia is part of the Renault Group...

He's always struggled with budget and his deals are often last minute so he probably has no clue what he'll be able to do next year at the moment.
