To those who have got the F1 2000 season review - am I alone in thinking that it was very poor?

The information provided in it was minimal, and we didn't see very much outside of the top two teams. The makers of this video appear to have forgotten that, even though only two teams have a realistic chance of winning either championship, there are still things going on in the rest of the field.

The last decent season reviews were the 94 and 95 season tapes..but since then the quality has gone done dramaticly..kind of like the 92 tape..which was just awfull

I thought it was alright but whoever did the commentary should get the boot, he's shocking. I think he did the 1997 video to and he was worse in the 2000 than he was then!

The commentator doesn't do such a bad job of making some fairly dull races sound the teeniest bit exciting...

I didn't think that the review was informative enough. We only had about three very short news reports throughout the whole 17 races, and a lot of the action (granted, there wasn't a whole lot of it, but the bits that there were) further down the field wasn't shown because we would be looking at Hakkinen or TGF trailing round doing...well, nothing.

True but the one bit I was desperate to see was Hakkinen being held up by Mazzacane at Indy, that would have been cool.

Mazzacane also caused some trouble at the Italian GP as I recall but none of that was on the video.

Quite a bit of Dukes recent stuff has been poor quality.
Their "Worlds Greatest F1 Cars" video was packed full of errors.

The commentary said that Ralf joined Williams as Jacques team mate in 1998, that Jenson finished 3rd in the 2000 Belgian GP, that Alesi won for Ferrari in 1994 and that Senna was DQed from the 89 Japanese GP for hitting Prost, when his DQ was for taking a short cut.

Well as regards the F1 reviews, I think they're getting worse by the season.

I'll admit that I don't have them all (yet!) and that I haven't seen the 2000 review, but IMO the best tapes were the early ones, especially the with Clive James doing the narration. Even the first in 81, which has a drawn out intro by Simon Taylor was still very well produced.

I particularly enjoyed James' dry wit, which had the wonderful knack of exposing just how seriously F1 sometimes takes itself. The dignity with which he handled the deaths of Gilles Villeneuve and Ricardo Paletti in the 1982 review was also highly creditable.

The 1989 video by Tony Jardine and Bob Constanduros was also very entertaining, with plenty of news footage to help you keep up with what was a very complicated season.

Surely though, the nadir has to be the 1993 reciew by Jonathan 'Woss' who could not pronounce Ferrari, Alesi, Schumacher...

The FIA reviews are full and I mean FULL on innacuracies in the commentary. The ealier ones are the better ones for sure. *2 and *6 are my favourites beacuse of the Clive James factor...

As for the 1983 vidoe BRRRAAANNN!

What I have noticed is that there are less naked girls in the latter vidoes.

Oh dear...

You had to remind me about the 1983 video, didn't you?

The video with a commentary so embarrassing I am unable to watch it without the sound turned down.

*shudder*
