[V8SC10R09&10] City of Ipswich 300, Queensland Raceway

Will HRT actually make 2 cars competitive that weekend?

Will FPR actually put up a decent challenge away from home, and score points?

Will SBR convert some of that secret testing pace into a race win or three?

Anyone prepared to bet *against* the #1 machine?

Pro Racer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Giz will be strong.

i think Coldarse will bounce back, it was his turning point in 09.

also i think PMM will finally "click" with their new 888 beasts.

SVG might be in the top 10. Wouldn't expect any more.

don't discount Caruso and Holdsworth, and a couple of others. It maybe a boring drive fo some but others can pick up some places. As for the Locals, SVG, JC, SJ, RI, and newbie Queenslander Murph, they will still chase JW and GT, Wd might be the suprise package, but it could also come down to how much of lead you have and how quick the pitstop is. Seen many a car go in with the field at coming past four, and come out of the pits in 8th or futher back.

Me thinks tyres will be big issue, loading up the lefts into three, four/five, and six. Will one of the HRT cars continue the trend of running of between one and two?

Interesting mix, the pit stops will be crucial.

With Formula Ford on the programme, at least we might get a Ford win!

Minis and Aussie Racers.

I noticed we do not have a 'hot topic' for the Fujitsu Rd 2 as yet, or does nobody care about it.

Should be a Triple 8 cake walk....

All I know is that I'm up that way on business this year and have managed to get travel department to delay my departure back to Mexico for a couple of days, so going to try and get to the track one day.

Anyone got any tips for getting from GC to Ipswich?

Soft tyre only weekend

My Favourite 08 moment was when Courtney/Besnard comeback drive at Bathurst. Courtney raced through to dominate the opening stint had 15 sec. gap to Lowndes who was in 2nd. In the 2nd stint a slowly deflating tyre (originally diagnosed as a damaged anti-roll bar) slowed Besnard's stint in Courtney's car allowing Whincup to assert dominance over the field rest of the race. On lap 160 S.Richards, fading badly on rear tyres was unable to stop Courtney move into 3rd place.

How many outside of this forum actually know it's on this weekend? Seems very quiet out there in Sports land. So much so that Carlton is pleading to get their game shown live across the country rather than after the Sunday race.

Denosaur, its pretty easy to drive there. Takes about 70 mins. Straight out the Logan Motorway.

I think someone in football land got their hands on the TV ratings for the V8s and saw it dropping off due to so much T8/ Holdens winning and nobody can be f.u.c.k.e.d watching a predictable race.

I have to admit that I watched the qualys but played racing games on the PC after, then watched the news to see who won.

Seems to be more interest here in the "Gold Coast Non-Event" rather than the "Qld Raceway Event"

Hope I am not wasting my time going out there this weekend

I haven't been to a V8 event for awhile, but trackside is usually a lo better than the rubbish V8 TV pushes out. You get to see the whole field and the fighting that goes on further down the order.

Maybe there are more people that want to watch red vs blue than some on this forum will give credence to...... and VESA aren't doing anything about it.
