Apparently Mika is about to sign a new two-year deal, and Kimi Raikkonen will join him at McLaren in 2003...

Hmmm, interesting. Where did ya get this from MF?

I think the master and his young apprentice is a good formula for McLaren struggle back to the top.

Jersound - DC's gone! He's on his bike and I've let both the tyres down! I'll only be driving for one year as I've got to keep Kimi's seat warm. I've had my seat fitting and everything - I've got a cushion in the cockpit as I'm too small to see over the top
It means I can spend all of next season snuggled up to Mika and enjoying his company in all the debriefs (I hope he leaves Erja at home though).

I think it's highly doubtful Mercedes would be happy to have two Finnish drivers. And although I'm sure Kimi would be after a race-winning seat, he's stated quite openly in the press that he would love to drive for Ferrari.

I stand by my opinion (and many others) that Heidfeld is first on Mercedes list, who have been quite open in press statements lately that they want a German driver, and they want him now.

However.....

If this rumour is true, it would be good, for McLaren at least, and Finland would probably have two race winners. The experienced Finn teaching the pupil. And we know that Mika is a big fan of Kimi.

BTW, where will DC go?????

I agree - Mercedes will be after a German driver, and Heidfeld is pretty much the only option.
