Photographer needed, MSVR Racing at Silverstone on the 19th

Hi there,

im posting on behalf of project 8 racing (p8r.co.uk)
who need a photographer (foc) for next weekends race meeting at Silverstone (National) on Sunday 19th april
(we were supposed to be racing at Donington)

PBMW and TTRS are covered in Autosport and Retro Cars Magazine,
theres a high probability of your pics being used in these publications,
we'll need to send a few pics through on the monday after raceday.

One of our racers writes for Retro Cars Mag, so a high probability of your pics being published there.

Gallerys of the pictures will also be required for the PBMW and TTRS websites; racingsaloons.com, pbmwc.co.uk, we can either link to your online gallery on create gallerys on our sites, whatever you're happy with.

Not sure how you reconcile "professional" with "foc".

whoever takes the photos for us will make money back by selling photos to a customer base of sixty drivers

in strict terms, what you are proposing would be a breach of the conditions of getting a pass from the circuit............photos to be used for editorial purposes only is usually the standard clause in the signing on sheet. Some folks pay a fee for the right to sell their work to non editorial customers, depends on the circuit.

As a photographer I would prefer that 60 of you have a whip round and offer an up front fee........both sides know what they are getting then and the financial risk is not all with the snapper.

Given that this is a rescheduled meeting accreditation should be less of a problem.

However Mr Attorney is entirely right, what is being proposed is entirely outside the remit of a media sign on. Media sign on is for media purposes only and what is proposed will need a commercial licence as its a commercial activity.

It would usually be the circuit that deals with media but the last couple of times I've been to Silverstone for clubby's the organising club (MSVR in this case) have dealt.

maybe im using the wrong terminology, afaik its the photographers responsibility to make sure they've signed on appropriately for the usage of the photos

we've got a photographer sorted now, thanks chaps
