Read elsewhere that for spectators this will be advance ticket holders only. Is that true, and if so why?

Thought it was a bit strange but both EERC website and programme from Saturday's Silverstone meeting state "Advanced Tickets Only".

In this age of political correctness, that is a little strong. How about we just drag a life size effigy of Johny Wilkinson around the circuit behind the car...!!

That will be one way of keeping the co-driver out of the car I guess!

Mmmmm Silverstone buuuuurgers.... Are we talking from the paddock restaurant, or from the greaseburger van behind the pits?

With cheese, lots of onions, and the mustard coloured sauce (note, I said mustard coloured, I didn't mention flavour!)

Martin - Pickled eggs too don't forget (that keeps the person behind... behind!)

All this talk of food is costing me lap time.....

I have just read the following on EERC website. I thought this race was already definately going ahead.

The final nail is about to be put in place so the 24 hr dream can be fulfilled... The meeting at Silverstone is at 4o'clock on Tuesday will reveal whether we have the final go ahead or not....!!

Richard Phillips and James Tucker, will with luck put the jigsaw together, so the 'Silverstone Britcar 24hr Race' can become a Classic in British Motorsport.... 'Without an agreement for 5 years or more the event is too expensive to run', said Tucker today, 'We will see'.!!!

Good Luck Tuesday. Would be a real shame if it doesn't happen.

It's listed on the '05 calendar on the Silverstone website, so seems they're presuming the event will happen too

Is there any truth in the stories that the pit garages are being demolished after the LMES race in August? I heard a suggestion that because of this Britcar were intending to set up a refuelling centre in the assembly area and to carry out driver changes in the pit lane.

If it's a true story I wonder how that will work for the teams - would they have to have two lots of personnel - it's quite a trek from the assembly area to the pit lane. Also, if the plan is to have a number of refuelling rigs how will that work if there is a safety car and three quarters of the field wish to refuel at the same time?

Fueling

Piglet, best to Speak to John/James

From what I understand there is going to be a "petrol station" between Bridge and Woodcote, with a number of pumps. This will be seperate to the pits complex. If it works like Belcar then you drive in are fueled by your fueling guys (requires 2-4 people including fire extinguisher man) then go to your pit if you want to change driver etc. It usually works on a first come first served basis and is used in big races on the continent like Zolder 24h so shouldn;t be a problem....

Does anyone know how the entry list is coming along ? I haven't seen anything about a provisional list or wether they are opening up entries beyond their members ( Dutch supercar challenge ??? ) if they don't get the full 85 cars. ( 85 is what i believe can start). Any info appreciated, as i can't see anything on EERC website.
