Since Spa is clashing with ADAC GT-Masters at Hockenheim I think you might be right with them gunning for a support slot in one of the bigger Ring events... other than perhaps DTM there really aren't any big weekends at Hockenheim left that they could run at. (Though they did run at HH at Porsche Club days and similar events on occasion in the past, so who knows.)

Translated the last part about Procar Division 1 vs TCR:
Quote:
[Heiko Hammel:] I think the time is in particular the planned TCR Series controversial. I think the main difference is that the Division 1 has a clear regulations: max. 1600 cc, min. 1100 kg, max. 2.5 bar boost pressure, mechanically actuated circuit, clear definition of each engine part, clear dimension of the body parts, etc. According to these regulations, each car is built. In the end, everyone can develop and the best car driver combination wins. No one will be punished who has done the best job over the winter - with a budget of 70,000 euros.
The TCR series, if I have understood correctly, a car is built and homologated by a team or a work - like the GT3 class. A clear regulations do not exist - except the limit of 2 liter displacement with turbo and a driven axle. In the end it should - also analogous to the GT3 - a BoP addressed, but this can lead to endless discussions, why he was rated worse or better; as we experience it before every big 24-hour race in the GT3 class. I just read that some Seat Leon Cup Racer and Opel Astra will go. Since I know both cars, anyone who does so also will find that about 5 seconds between the two vehicles on a round on a normal Grand Prix circuit. This to clean just about BoP, I imagine difficult. In addition, we hear from budget to € 500,000 per season. That's a lot, but we must not forget that we are talking about a world championship staged. I'm still looking forward to the development.

Yeah, publishing that on the official site kinda obliterates any chance of Procar adopting TCR anytime soon. So I am really beginning to wonder which German promoter did go to Barcelona if it wasn't them.

I think, Procar has done a good job, but i still don't like to see different Ford Fiesta in one race (competeting in different classes).
Of course, i don't like the idea of racing with such small cars. Looks always like a junior cup...

In a way it does, but it actually isn't much shorter than a Mk.1 Focus... so I guess it actually kinda fits the DTC-revival theme they have going on.

I have to admit I didn't know these D1T cars have 300 bhp.
That's SEAT Leon Supercopa level in terms of power. Although the Supercopa is probably faster due to the total package.

Polo is the Golf of 20 years back, Fiesta is the Escort of 20 years back, etc.

But still Polo and Fiesta look smaller.

Last year's target was 250-280bhp, but they bumped that up over the off-season and also allowed wider wheel arches.

I know, that small cars of today are much bigger than compact cars like Golf etc. 20 years ago.

But they still look like "learner" cars, like you have it after getting drivers license. I am maybe old-school...
And in Germany Ford Fiesta is a car, that mostly buy young girls and woman, who are not much into cars...

Good to see that they go to the Nurburgring supporting ADAC GT weekend...

A bit weird that they go to Spa, but not during the ADAC GT weekend..

Take a good note, Opel!

That Clio looks definitely good. While I'm still don't like the fact that most touring cars nowadays are hatchbacks, the ADAC Procar series doesn't claim to be a top-class series. From the look of it, they beefed up the Clios, Fiestas and so on anyway so who knows, maybe Procar will do well in the next years.

Just to be clear: Vukovic sells the kit, not Renault.

And then, Opel seems to be a bit less restrictive about the VLN-cars these days - one will be racing in the Danish Yokohama Cup next year.

there will only be 2 classes for 2016: Production (new class with cars with around 220 hp) and Superproduction (the current Divison 1 - cars with around 300 hp).

the series changed it's name again, it's now calles DTC - Deutscher Tourenwagen Cup

they recently presented the KIA pro cee´d GT for the Superproduction Class: http://dtc-series.de/2015/11/dtc-pra...e-saison-2016/

This Kia seems really good
However it's a shame that Germany will have two separate touring car championships (Adac TCR and DTC), this could put someone in trouble!

This is probably the series with the most name changes.
The ADAC part has gone so I assume TCR Germany is the official ADAC touring car series. Makes sense.

About the Kia. It's a nice looking car. Except for the engine is there much difference with TCR? Any guess what this Kia will cost?

But at the end I think TCR is the way to go and see no real future for DTC.
