It's been confirmed the last one (1500) will be produced next month. It's sad but it will go down as one of the legendary pickups and deservedly so. I think it's nearly 4 million sold. However! Spy shots of the 2025 Ram HD are floating around and the 4th gen lives on!

Dorky nerd fact, the taillight shape, size, and housing has been the same since 2009, mainly because the HDs have been the same, even on the 5th gens. But because of this, I can spot a ram from a mile away. I think this continuity helps.

Here - sometimes also referred to as Super Duty. Typically with a stronger frame and more powerful engine, which increases the load and towing capacity.

And ironically DOT calls it regular (weak) duty, mostly. You can up them to medium but generally that's 4500/450s that are medium duty. But they're mostly a slightly inflated copy of the 2500/3500 series

Well cause they are, doesn't matter what you change them to it's half ton, 3/4, 1 ton and dually (duellie for some reason in Virginia cause SW Virginia is odd and drunk)

And no, no you don't need a CDL for this guy, drove a version with 800 gal water tank, pump, hoses, etc for years on regular old ordinary license. But you don't pass a weigh station or they will come stop you as a commercial truck

He's correct about the above 3500 kilos loaded limit. This means that many ambulances, fire or safety vans are well above the said limit… The way the EV's market goes, including big sedans, they could well sale a lot of licences in a near future!

JHammy can probably address it more being commercial construction guy but residential multifamily structures are now concerned about needing to over build parking decks now with expected electric car load and required charging offering. I didn't realize how insanely heavy some of them really are

I was in my "library" reading Car and Driver this evening and I came upon the first review of the "new" Ram with the High Output Hurricane I-6. They tested a Limited 4x4 that had a curb weight of 5967 lbs. It's 0-60mph time was 4.2 seconds and the quarter mile was 12.8 at 106mph. Holy crap. There is no reason for a half ton to be that quick!

On the other side of things, the as tested MSRP is $89,295. That's not even the most expensive trim level as the Tungsten 4x4 starts at $92k. It has a suede headliner. What is going on??

Until there are lots full of unsold $80,000 trucks this is the world we live in.

Also saw there is a new "super duty" Ranger that can tow 10,000 pounds.

My old Bimmer Touring can tow a lot too but when it comes to stoppage its another story.

There in lines the usual issue with the Taco folks with travel trailers. Can move it but they do 75 and wonder why the 18 wheeler fully loaded stops faster

My truck was $74,400 MSRP but it had $14k on the hood (which is still ridiculous for a mid-level truck). Why do they do that? They've done that my entire life. Why not put the actual, real price on the vehicle?
