Why would people being tethered to DJR's incompetence be happy?
Good on Stephen Grove. DJR doesnt compare to 888 on building a car other people can extract speed from (and never has), and DJR also doesn't compare to KRE. Sent from my SM-S908E using Tapatalk |

I mentioned that there should have been an engine swap between cars #97 and #17 during the 2023 season -- at Bathurst perhaps? Given the perfect parity Jamie Whincup was confident in, it would have made no difference given the perfect equivalence at the time. Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 2 Nov 2024 at 20:33. |

Wow you are REALLY scraping the barrell. Nobody has ever had success in a customer car of DJR, in the entirety of the V8 era.
Quote:
2023 still had Herrod's screwing around with the engine spec, and obviously all the dissatisfaction bubbling that ended up with DJR taking the engine program over. $1m worth of AVL dyno testing is what you demanded, and now that you have got it, and parity is proven by science, you are still whining about it? Face facts, DJR without Penske isn't a winning team. Supercars chose them as homologation team, it's a key reason WAU have secured their own future. All the Ford teams are held hostage by DJR's competence, and you can't paritise the ability of a team to build a car with a wide setup window. Or to make dashboards or light enough door panels, either. |

Not quite… brand new locally built shell, Mountune developed engine, suspension from Ford Motorsport Germany..
Story Here Ex-DJR cars have rarely gone as well in customer hands as in DJR hands. This stretches back to the ‘rock’ XD with Mr Donnelly, the crashed XD with Mr Grant, the bitzer XE2 to Mr Jones, the 2 Mustangs to Mr Ker in NZ and Mr Love of WA. The Trakstar Sierras to Mr Gravett and Mr Smith, the Valvoline Sierra to Mr Lintott, the Shell Sierra to Mr Petch, the EB Falcon to Mr Trimble, the AU Falcon that ended up with Mr Halliday, the BAs & AU Falcons sold to Race Image, the BF sold into Novocastrian Motorsport, the FG/Xs sold to Mr Fullwood & Mr Gomersall…. The only ones that seemed to go all right with their new team was the EL that Paragon Motorsport bought & ran for Mr McLean, and the Super2 Mustang to Mr Anderson. All the way along there, engine supply deals were in place with Mr Grant’s XD, the Anderson Brothers PinePac Mustangs, to engines for BRT in the last year of Gen2… and preparation deals for Tekno’s own car, the Jim Beam-branded ex-PCR chassis for Mr Fiore, and others… plus an inconsistent Konica series program with the soon-to-be Race Image BA’s, and before that Mr Fernandez in a Fujitsu branded program. Truthfully, it isn’t a wonderful body of work to be proud of, as suppliers of racing hardware and software to others. With very few exceptions, DJR equipment did not go as well with their second owner as they did with their first. Quite why there was or is any expectation of this improving with control engine supply ot design and build of chassis and bodywork is an absolute mystery. |

Testimony to how good 888 customer cars are would have to be 2010....
Also Gen2 Mustang not all DJR, joint with Tickford. Also clearly never paritised anything like the current car. Sent from my SM-S908E using Tapatalk Last edited by Mixer; 3 Nov 2024 at 00:46. |

Actually, I missed a couple. And it’s probably still not a complete list..
The Cenovis BA for Allan Moffat Racing came to Bathurst with a DJR branded engine, and was not on the front running pace, while Mr Schembri bought a couple of DJR ELs that weren’t front runners in their next racing life… The whole effluentfight about Gen3 engines has been nothing short of embarrassing, for Ford, for V8Supercar, for Herrods and for DJR if they were to take a long hard honest look at it. And arguably there is no obvious way forward, other than their customers seem to be looking at, and some bailing to other brands… |

In 30 years, this is almost the only thing they can claim, where there has been numerous well funded attempts that utterly failed. Where 888 customer cars found great success in both red and blue, including DJR's last non Penske championship win. Sent from my SM-S908E using Tapatalk |

Has customer car success ever been part of the DJR mission or business plan? |

Being the homologation leader for Ford in Gen3 and selling aero kits and designs, and being the single source of Ford Gen3 engines clearly has. In old time sales speak, a sale is not a good sale unless the buyer is willing to come back for another sale later on. This has transmogrified into net promoter score measurement in a more tangible collection of thoughts about the interface experience. |

Didn’t Andrew Harris’ result at Bathurst in 1983 ultimately come in a DJR customer car?
