2024 Nascar Big 3
Guess it's finally time to create the 24 thread with the news coming in for 2024 schedule and teams
Brickyard back to Brickyard on the oval No Road America No dirt at Bristol And some dude from the upside down is gonna race right side up next year, SVG full time in NASCAR across the 3 series Iowa returning to the schedule for 2024. Apparently they were trying to go to Montreal of all places but that fell through |

Going to Bristol in April is more convenient for me. Which also works well because I’m more into NASCAR at that time of year before my thoughts wander elsewhere.

https://racer.com/2023/11/29/amazon-...old-from-2025/
Streaming enters Cup racing, makes it look like IMSA less likely to be on TV in future. 14 to start on Fox, 14 to finish on NBC, 10 in the middle on TNT and Amazon Prime. Quali and practice for first half of season streaming on Prime, big races on Fox family. |

Chase continues the family tradition
https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/geo...NVW6PEIBQAINI/ He's won 6, Jr won 15 before that, Sr in 01, and then some awesome dude for 16 times, the last 11 in a row. No one not name Earnhardt or Elliot has won Most Popular driver in 33 years. |

Iowa race reported as nearly sold out. I'm wondering why there hasn't been a cup race there before and why it's now on the schedule.

Nascar bought it out in 2013 and tried to get the feeders there until scheduled in 2020 but cancelled. They've had other track issues to sort before they could add this to the schedule

So there was a cup race on the original schedule for 2020? Strange that I don't remember any mention of it. |

Good to see Chicago. The race was a blast this past July sans all the rain.

The support padding is ace. That has to be harder to do that actually just buying a race seat.
Stickshifts and safetybelts, bucket seats have all got to go. When we're driving in the car, it makes my baby seem so far. |

For those in the upside down, SVG Cup schedule with Kaulig confirmed
Van Gisbergen’s seven Cup Series races are: Circuit of the Americas (March 24) Talladega Superspeedway (April 21) Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 26) Chicago street course (July 7) Watkins Glen (Sept. 15) Talladega Superspeedway (Oct. 6) Las Vegas (Oct. 20) Only 3 non-ovals but a decent mix of technical natural terrain, road course and then sadly tiny little road course without the boot. |

Change the name of the thread to the big 4?? Kidding and don't see anything posted about it and it doesn't really deserve it's own thread....
Ray Evernham bought the rights to the IROC series and is trying for a single race in 2024 https://www.si.com/fannation/racing/...ries-to-return It would be cool, but think it's a tall task.... I only bring it up because I wanted to post a couple of pics of old "IROC type" cars I found recently from here....https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid...81534656101565 Edit Upon further review... Come back tomorrow folks, cause rain. Daytona always looks terrible with delayed racing, needs a full house

Also, SVG rolls off 5th to start the XFinity race at 11 ET, 2am for the upside downers in AEST, 5am for the flightless birds, I think. In theory it should be clearing and give them about an hour or 2 to dry the track so we'll see
