Returning...hopefully

Greetings,

Am new to 10/10ths, but good to see such a site and forum. Saw old friends at w'end who I used to work with at Nissan. Went to the 97/98/99 races with Nissan and am keen to go back.
Always went on big company coach trips and never had to arrange tickets myslf. Is best bet to go to ACO direct? Am looking at Karting Nord campsite and hopefully Dunlop bridge grandstand, am I too late?

Also, my first (and still favourite) trip was in 91, anyone got any memories of that??

Hurry up !

Not necessarily too late, but surely a little bit

I order myself at the ACO office in Nantes each year, and it's each time a lotery for the grandstands tickets... and I was late in November this year !

Good luck !

Hi there - welcome to the forum. Yes, I remember '91 - had the pleasure of watching for a couple of hours from the first garden around from Tertre Rouge!

If you're looking for campsite tickets, I think you'd better get in touch the with ACO a.s.a.p. I don't want to worry you, but there may not be too much left by now.....

That's what I'm worried about, will get on to it as soon as my fellow travellers let me know if they're coming.

I remember '91 as it was roasting hot and we were there from Wednesday morning soaking up La Sarthe sunshine. We were opposite the pits and I can remember a Peugeot pit fire in the first hour or two and then sitting there for the last 3 or so hours watching the Mercs gradually drop out. The cheer as JH went through and the glorious rotary sound of the Mazda are great first memories of Le Mans.

Yes, I remember that well - I was on the Tribunes as well at the time and managed to get a quick grab shot. Slightly out of focus, but I was still quite pleased with it.

By the way, alongside my comments about campsite tickets, if you're looking for ferry crossings, you might need to hurry up about that too. My sources tell me that a lot of the favoured routes and crossings were booked solid (were weeks ago).
