Eurosport is a shambles. I will give them props for their support of LeMans (in terms of dedicated broadcast hours etc), however apart from that the scheduling and general competence for broadcasts is very poor.

Shambles is a very accurate word. Eurosport and Brexit are the same. Will we be allowed Eurosport if we're not in Europe? 🙄

With manufacturers upping the ante in 2019, with Hyundai Motorsport and Lynk & Co Racing all running four factory-placed drivers in 2019, and with Honda and Audi Sport set to do the same...
Wow!! So that would put us at 20 factory placed drivers! Talk about a stacked field!

Kind of wondering who Honda and Audi will come up with.

IMO these are 100%
Guerrieri and Monteiro for Honda
Vernay, Shedden in Audi

Now Vervisch is factory driver, so he could race in third Audi.

No idea about fourth Audi and two Honda's

TCT said that NĂ©stor Girolami is looking for WTCR drive.

Also VW have Huff, Kristoffersson, Bennani and maybe Turkington

Zengo said that they aren't 100% sure that they will race with Cupra's or with Hungarian drivers.

So even Cupra can then field 4 factory drivers

Oriola as best placed Leon this year, Filippi with Oscaro sponsorship and Azcona as TCR Europe champions is most likely scenario.

I know that fan's of these series won't approve this, but I would like to see champions from touring series around the world in WTCR.
Sutton, Turkington, Ardusso, McLaughlin...

I think McLaughlin is making decent money in V8s, but the other three might be possible, with BTCC factory drives being so in name only and Argentinia's economy in the doldrums...

It would be great to see Kristoffersson in the championship. He's excellent.

Zengo are a shadow of their former self, looking incredibly amateur in a strong field. Would love to see a different Cupra team come in.

Yeah, they need to get better or get out. They've contributed very little to the series in the last few years.

Zengő is under rebuilding. In 2016 they have not only lost Michelisz, but their best engineers and mechanics. There are only two guys left from that extremely successful squad. They have very young drivers, and mostly inexperienced staff. Very good guys, but they have to learn.

Also it is very difficult to raise money in Hungary, as there are laws that encourage companies to spend on football, handball, waterpolo, etc.

On the other hand: Zengő was loyal to the championship when almost everyone else left it, in 2017, when there were only 15-16 cars. WTCC needed them deeply. So I think the team is hight at the promoter, with all their problems.

See, things are usualy more complex than simply "looking amateur".

This is shaping up to be the best driver line-up that has ever been in world touring cars. Kristofferson can be a huge addition to the already storng field

Personally I would also like to see Azcona in 2019, in order to see other TCR champions join the field

You're right! They have done great things in the past, let's see now

Actually I think that WTCR brings to much pressure to a team that is under " rebuilding"

I agree!

This was my point. They could move to TCR Europe and show more competively ahead of rejoining WTCR in future.

There are teams performing so much better with a Cupra that would be more competitive in WTCR, like PWR in STCC.

Mulsanne/Romeo Ferraris completed testing with some drivers. Ceccon drove the car and so also Ma, Coronel and Jono Lester.

Seems to me that Ceccon could be confirmed, then the team could bring in someone with sponsors

I guess that also points to Coronel being out at Honda; making room for a factory-placed driver, one would think.

Yep you're right. And maybe the Mulsanne Team could line up more than two cars (2+2)....who knows

Both Coronel and Ma drove for Boutsen Ginion. Considering their rather dissapointing effort with the Honda compared to Munnich perhaps Honda has another team lined up to run their cars? With only 4 cars to run you have to make the best out of it, and Boutsen Ginion hasn't really done that this year.
