Quest MT85

Hi All,

Myself and my dad have a Quest MT85 that we are currently rebuilding and we are looking for any information that people may have as to the whereabouts of the original jigs, moulds etc. We heard rumour that chevron may have these but they appear to have no knowledge of them...? We would also be interested if anyone has any spares for the car such as wishbones etc as some are a bit worse for wear on ours. Any information is welcome as we know very little about the car really and will appreciate any help we can get! The car was last seen out in the mono series, its currently painted black.

Many Thanks,

Chris

Graham Johnson from Lanan Racing did a rebuild on a Quest a couple of years ago, he may be able to help you out with info.

This car was run in mono several years ago by Nick Catanzaro. The car was stunning back then. It changed hands about 4 years ago.

I had an MT87 many years ago and can let you have a set up sheet if it's of any interest. I think the Chevron connection is Mike Thompson who designed the cars at that time and moved to Chevron. Unless you can find someone with jigs I think you will have to get new ones made from copying the original.

Chris,

Sounds like you have an interesting car there. If you would like me to add the car to the growing register of 1980's FF1600 chassis on the www.goldenera-formulaford.com website then please email me as much detail as you have on the car to info@goldenera-formulaford.com. You never know who might view and have the vital piece of information you require!

Thanks for the info guys, yeah apparently the car was stunning a few years ago... when we acquired it however it was a major basket case, its now totally stripped and being prepped for rebuild.

When I get back home (at uni currently) I'll email you some info mrgoldenera, major points are pull-rod suspension all round, chassis type won the '85 destival driven by Jonny Herbert.

MikeM, a setup sheet would be very useful if you have one, I'll PM you my email...

If its the nick catanzaro one then my Dad Ian Temple raced the car in Monopsto in 1993 and back then it was a darkish green colour. I can provide you with some pictures of it from that time if you would like any

My name is Nick Catanzaro and this sound like this was my old Quest.
I brought this car back in the early 90's and after a full restoration it was immaculate when i sold it in about 2001, having raced with the Monoposto club.
I have many pictures of this car and still have a box of chassis rails .
If you are interested in these or want any further information on the car please dont hesitate to contact me on Nick@catanzaro.freeserve.co.uk
