RIP Jim Lamont - A message from Roger Sheffield
"Many of you will have heard that Jim has died. He was found dead at his home on Sunday. The reason is not yet known and will be investigated by the Coroner's Office. I assume there will be a Post Mortem to establish the cause of death.
Jim has been karting for about fifty years! In his younger days he raced against Bill Sisley, Martin Hines, Reg Gange and many more legends of our time. At present I can tell you no more but as soon as I hear, we will publish the funeral arrangements on the F6 website, facebook and any other appropriate media site. May he Rest in Peace A sad day for the Karting fraternity" Roger I met Jim a few times and took some shots of him racing at Sandown Park when Andrew Crighton owned and ran the kart circuit in the 90's and early 2000's. I remember meeting Jim for a drink at a pub in Hersham to give him one of my favourite racing photos of him. Lovely, down to earth guy and he will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Jim. |

Well said Paula he was a friend to all of us in F6, a great guy with years of stories and friendly abuse for those late to the grid.
