So no more than 3 RC F's. I thought there would be 2 more this season. Oh well.

R&D Sport retains Takuto Iguchi & Hideki Yamauchi (#61 Subaru BRZ R&D Sport) for this season. They also will be driving at 24 Hours of Nurburgring with Subaru WRX STi at SP3T class & teammates Carlo van Dam (former GT300 & GT500 driver) & Tim Schrick.

At Tokyo Auto Salon, I thought Okayama Toyopet would be racing as newly-established team, suggested by its number and livery so there would have been 4 RC F GT3. But later I found they decided to participate in Super GT with already existing team through the role as main sponsorship.

Hi Japanese Samurai, I have a big problem with SGT physics rulebending cars

Let's start with something: Since 2014, SGT cars share aero parts with german DTM rulebook; and 2017 there has been an about 20% downforce reduction because of new aero restrictions.

Ok, let's keep with this:
DTM cars are powered by NA 4L and have a power output of about 500hp, with an overall weigth (driver incl.) of 1120kg.
Watching top speed charts of a pair of seasons ago, german DTM cars top speed at hockeneim is in the range of 270km/h.

Now let's focus on this:
SGT and DTM share aero parts, maybe SGT cars have more downforce, but not so much more, considering also the downforce cut.
DTM cars: 1120kg - power: 500hp
SGT cars: 1100kg (1020+80) - power: 600-650hp according to different sources.

Fuji main straight is longer than hockenheim parabolika straight, well the question is: if dtm cars can reach 270km/h at hockenheim, why SGT GT500 cars hit just something more than 290km/h at fuji as top speed?
Despite 20kg lighter and >100hp at least more powerful.

Is almost quite unlogical all that can't believe GT500 cars may generate a so huge amount of extra drag compared to cars that follow same aero rules.
Also because, old GT500 specs were heavier (1100kg + driver if I recall well) and much less powerfull, 500-520hp.
No matter what, I remember that during 2012-2013 season, lexus sc430 were the fastest on fuji straight with top speed close to 290km/h!

Honestly, I can't find any sense in this.

We found 2 GTR GT3 EVO at Fuji Speedway.

However we don't know that 2 GTR GT3 EVO belongs to which team. However these two GTR GT3 EVO might be the same car and same team as well because we click the Instagram post with the same car and same link

@Japanese Samurai

Can you help me to explain these post as shown as below there in the webpage?

Although autosport web magazine claim that Yasuda will stepped down to GT300. However , someone written said that Yasuda will join GT500 lineup partnering with Takaboshi in Sepang tests by twitter.

Hi japanese samurai, can't remember if you were the one who posted this link,

https://twitter.com/SUPERGT_JP/statu...49100460261376

but data are not wrong. 5 lexus were in 295km/h range with only one able to this 298km/h; honda and nissan between 290 and low 295km/h.

Old GT500 specs lexus were however able to mark top speed close to 290km/h (infact old oreca 05 powered by a comparable amount of hp had a top speed in the same range).
All this huge amount of power and torque from new NRE engines and just this slighlty top speed gain?

Aero parts have been limited to single spec since 2017.
(In the past, two spec aero, Fuji spec and HDF spec, have been allowed.)
LDF circuits like Fuji are exceptional in SGT.
Therefore, it should be HDF aero than former Fuji spec aero.
So it might have affected the top speed.

Do you know 2014-2016 LDF fuji GT500 top speeds?

here there's an interesting onboard from a 2015 lexus. Unfortunately there is no HUD telemetry, but engine gets redline at the end of straight (assuming is in 6th speed)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiRsQtaYoNs

Just to make a comparison:
in the lexus gt500 video I posted, accelerating from 1.30 the car spent about 22 seconds throught main straight before starting to brake.

Here Porsche 919 telemetry onboard from 2014

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehZsfG6M6MI

Driver accelerates at 0.45 and brakes at 1.03, taking 18 seconds trought main straight with an higher top speed of course.
2014 919 was in 6MJ class and 2014 V4 wasn't so great at all... let's say that during the boost, max power was in 900hp range, if not something less.

Strangely in this 2015 onboard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2583mCqksrU

it takes between 19 and 20 seconds. 2015 919 was a beast, 8MJ and a redesigned V4, no doubts that combined power was over 1000hp for an extended boost period too.

At the end, 2015 lexus needed just abot 3 seconds more than a porsche 919 (lighter and much more powerful) to run trought the fuji main straight

Ok, thanks again for your constant sharing with us of your SGT knowledge.

BTW another interesting video

old spec GT500 nissan onboard taken in a december 2011 exhibition.
Don't know if the car was running unrestricted or not, but was revving up over 9000rpm! quite insane......

If I am not wrong, GT500 cars stepped up to about 520hp only in 2012 or 2013 when 520-540hp GT3 cars were the most numberous kind of cars in GT300 field.

Assuming that in 2011 GT500 were still in the 500hp range, torque release from those small 3.4 V8 engines had to be quite laughable.
Likely about 400Nm in most of the medium-high rpm to push forward a 1200kg racecar..... so very meh....

But no worries about wheelspin! Must have been a good drivability in those cars. The high torque could be beneficial in acceleration but harder to control without traction control. Iirc, GT500 doesn't have that? I could be wrong.

As far I know TCS is not allowed in DTM, so should be in SGT.

Anyway to me a so bland low torque / high rev figure simply doesn't suit good for a not-open wheels GT style car that has a dry weight over 1200kg (easily usually over 1300kg if we add fuel, fluids and success ballast).
Basically is a restless driving stress for the driver that having not any momentum entering and exiting out from corners need to push over the limit corner by corner or will be punished by lack of acceleration.
That basically was also the main problem of the 2015 TS040.

Ok, surely >600Nm are more difficult to control, but are definetively more useful to push a considerable heavy car.

400Nm and a high end power high rev limit is great for 700-800kg open wheels single seaters.

Autosport web reports that engine room of GT-R GT3 EVO model is drastically changed and we must pay attention to cornering performance of EVO model.

Judging from this reports, GT-R GT3 EVO adopts in-board suspension like Lexus RC F GT3.
