Pics : Team Pescarolo testday with Lagorce at he wheel !
Hi every,
before the F3 week-end at Le Mans, Pescarolo run on the bugatti circuit to test a new front suspension to have more "grips". Frank Lagorce was at the wheel. http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/01.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/02.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/03.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/04.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/05.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/06.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/07.jpg http://site.voila.fr/fdlm/courage072003/08.jpg |

Nice pics.
You can see it's not just the suspension they've improved, look at those enormous dive planes! Interesting strake on the front splitter between the fenders and the end fence thing. |

Somewhere high downforce that for sure.
What upcoming races are there at high downforce tracks? |

Donnington FIA SCC, LM Bugatti LMES race?
What do you consider high downforce? Last edited by JAG; 9 Jul 2003 at 17:29. |

A track that ideally needs a car with a horse bolted to the front end...
Could it be Donny. It's not high speed, and with Coppice and the Craner Curves, and the Melbourne hairpin if they use it. |

Or maybe this is just a stop gap solution. Thinking back to the C41 article on Mulsanne's Corner.... The teams that ran that car tried everything to get more front grip. Maybe they're just looking for a fundamental increase in front end grip?

I thought that Mike posted pics of the Pescarolo already with the double dive planes on it...back from their run at Estoril....but I haven't looked at the pics Mike posted and compared them to these new images to see if these planes are bigger...
What kind of a circuit is Oschersleben???? |

I dunno, just asked that in your Oschersleben FIA-SCC thread.
I think it is. |

Those dive planes are much bigger.
I think the fenders are "skinnier" at the front, much more á la MG EX257/Lola B2K/10, allowing for a deeper Dive plane, but also if you look, the planes extend right forward to the edge where the side meets the top of the fender, and that edge is much harder than last year. From what i remember the cars ran the older type wheel arches at LM. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on this Mike? |

I don't think they're testing for the November race. The car's got a full roll hoop, which means they're preparing it for a FIA-SCC race.
About those dive planes, look at it this way: the car is designed for the Le Mans circuit, meaning low drag and low downforce. Therefore the car is going to need (quite big) dive planes at almost every other circuit it races on. They could even be testing for the Spa 1000Km. |

Pescarolo have only confirmed they'll race at the Oschersleben FIA SCC race. That may well be there last ever FIA SCC race if there is no series next year.
Looks to me preperation for the LMES race in Novemeber. |

AUTOSPORT magasine today reports that Boullion has now been dropped from the Pescarolet line-up for at least 1 race following the crash at Monza, it appears Henri wasnt very impressed. The Solo Courage will noe be driven by, Nicholas Minassian and Eric Helary.
