Pau Historique
Went to Pau for the first time this year and thought the reputation of the meeting must have taken a bashing.
Did not expect to find races for Legends (ala mini American cars - not Fench legends!) Thought an hours race for Prototypes that had just 8 cars entered and 7 cars racing was very poor. Great to see so many Brits doing well but really thought the meeting was a lost opprtunityin some areas. Heard various rumours: New organising club had failed to perform. Mayor was not supportive of the event etc but can anyone tell me: Why the main Grand Prix was for Classic F3?( fortunately plenty of interesting cars ) Will the event survive to produce a better show next year? Can we expect Legends to play elswhere and another decent grid of classics appear instaed? Heres hoping! |

I made the long journey down to Pau last year to compete. Aside from the awful weather I found the organisation rather lacking and inhospitable. I'm not surprised to read your post

Heard that the event has lost its way and the local club organsier is focussed on the WTCC with the historic weekend just a sideshow. Long and expensive way to go from UK to race 6 other cars.......probably means everyone gets a cup!
