Keith Ripp

Right you knowledgeable lot, i'm after some history about Keith Ripp when he did rallycross lots & lots & lots of years ago particularly with Minis, I believe he had one in Yellow Mini with backing from Plastic Cladding which i am most interested in, any photos & spec info would be greatfully appreciated

Thanks in advance

I especially love the fact that he gets out wearing just jeans and a parka! He'd fit right in at a cruise down on Southend sea-front!

I've never heard "Hatter's bank" before. It's Mabb's Bank, forever!!!

However, nice pics from the times of the 350 kg Minis.

Amused by the reference to Southend as if you go there i would imagine most of the cars there on a Saturday night most of the cars there will ahve parts on them bought at Ripspeed in its various incarnations!!

Rippy in his dayw as the best in the UK and possibly Europe, his Fiestas were state of the art and he went on to be an extremely visoinary and successfuol business man, now retired and living the high life wherever he may be!

There was an interview with him in the Retro cars magazine several months back. May be something in that? He is also featured in Mantovani's Drive It rallycross book published years ago(early 80s?) - may be a picture at least?

There was an article on Keith's old Mini in Rallycross 81. The car was then owned by 'Stud' (a Cypriot or Greek name) I think he worked for Keith.

I love the Fiesta mk1 which were sponsored Corbeau Seats

'Stud' did indeed work for Rippy.

Aah happy days.

Talking of Cypriot's and Ripspeed in one sentence, I wonder what happened to Dimi 'You want Orange' Mavropoulous's awesome old short wheelbase Quattro Sport....?
I remember being ta Lydden for that car's debut........never forget that beast storming up the hill for the first time.....

He's right ya know!

Many a fun night down the old sea front. Me and my mate picking up drunken girls in my 1100 mini. Wen i was 17. Those were the days.

Useless bit of history for you here. The 2 back windows in my car were owned and used by keith rip.
