My Blancpain Flickr gallery at the link below - also you can find some Lambos and Renault single seaters in other albums.
There's already a spectator snappers guide to Silverfence on https://www.pistonclick.com/silverstone-guide - and my event report with some more hints will follow soon. Hope it's helpful. https://www.flickr.com/photos/dwh38/...57708492748615 |

I knew it was going to happen and complaining about it isn't going to do anything but its still entirely farcical how these drivers spend more time off the track than on it.

Quick deployment of the SC, no idea why. Edit: Large accident at Signes. |

That's a big off, not one I've seen for a long time.
Hopefully the driver is unhurt. |

Watson: I got the feeling from Jordan Pepper that it'd be a single stint per driver.
That's absolutely not what the Bentley drivers said, lol. That's literally the exact opposite. |

About to go green, but the tyre barrier at Signe is in a terrible state. Not rebuilding that?

sigh. This makes the decision to watch IMSA or Blancpain just a little bit easier.

Was the 88 Mercedes the early leader?
Edit: No it was the 4, wasn't it? |

Finally seen a replay of the lap 1 incident. That was a really nasty hit. Not surprised they didn't show us at the time.

For the first time since the start of the IMSA race, the FCYs have aligned again.
This one's for the #33 Ferrari stopped on track. Edit - Not to be outdone by their American counterparts, race control keeps the field behind a lagging Acura (which couldn't even get to the required speed) and only lets them overtake when the entire field decides to pit instead. |

And then half the grid broke the pit lane exit rules. Good times.

Dumas just gave a good explanation on why 5 cars crossed the white line, and Watson just laughs at it. wtf? Has he seen what lines look like with low sun? Look at the screen John.

Yeah that was a good explanation. Genuine mistake that he admitted making.

Garage 59 Aston of Watson losing places like mad, also noticed the car has lots of flames out the exhaust off throttle. Loads more than the R Motorsport Aston which doesn’t seem to have any.

Will the #107's loose wheel at their last stop give them a drive-through? Place your bets now...

I knew I could watch the race again on Youtube today, and I just did -- I loved the in-car footage from the long Mapelli vs Kirchhofer fight. And then he had to do it all over again... (and Caldarelli vs Lynn & Caldarelli vs Kane earlier on) I am bit surprised they consistently outperform and outscore GRT Grasser. That Lamborghini seems so well-prepared compared to the other teams. I know FFF Racing (or Andrea Caldarelli Motorsport) won Blancpain Asia last year and their driver lineup is impressive, but still they're new to this and this is a different level than the Asian series I'd think. Blancpain endurance series just is not enjoyable to watch this year so. The number reason is these stupid safety cars. Throw the FCY, let the cars preserve their track position, clear the track and RACE!
And they want 75 cars for the Spa 24!!!! |
