Grand Prix de L'Age d'Or
Funny that nobody has started this one yet, too few Islanders involved? Come one guys, there is more is this world than the club races at Snetterton
anyway here are three impressions. first Rod Jolley giving it all as usual, unfortunately shortly after this shot he gave too much second shot is of 10-10er third if you are a Batmobile fan, this is for you. |

With L'Age d'Or under different 'management' this year, unless you are a Peter Auto disciple, U2TC-er, HGPCA or FJ owner, the clash with A Very Good HSCC event in the UK is bound to have an effect. I get the impression that PA are oblivious to clashes with other events, which is their choice, but disappointing for some competitors..... Mods, a merge with the other thread, perhaps? |

I merged Pieter's original post into the calendar thread. I'll do the same to this one.

the touring car grid was not very filled up, but the fight for the lead lasted a full one hour. Finally Andy Wolfe's Cortina, despite all its dancing had to give way for the cleanly driven GTA of Alex Furiani and Frank Stipler. It was funny to see that after the lefthander shown here, (the return to the old track) the Alfa had far more grip than the Cortina.

You are preaching to the converted, btw. Last year I was fortunate to race at Barcelona, Jerez, Dijon, Le Castellet, Nurburgring, Monza, Spa x2, Portimao and Sebring..... |

And back to topic.... Dijon is at the top of my favourite tracks, and was sorry that it clashed with another race I wanted to do this year! Fingers crossed it won't happen next year. |

I was at Dijon with the Kieft Godiva climax in the HGPCA pre 61. We had a great time, although the weather was a little warm at 32C.....It is the second time I have been to Dijon and the track with its height changes sweeping bends and absence of chicanes is truly fantastic for historic motor cars: combined with a beautiful city centre and great food it all makes for a great weekend.

Zef, the shot was taken on the long downhill righthander before you climb up again towards the finish line, the car passed my by like this always in this position, with a lot of tire noise. (there was also a Camaro which did more or less the same), so I assume it was heavily understeering.
And yes, some people were complaining about the cold |
