Come on Down...
I would like to personally extend an invitation to Toyota to become part of the most successful touring car series in the world and the most successful sedan based motor racing series outside NASCAR.
I look forward to you embracing our rear wheel V8 formula and think that just like NASCAR this is a fantastic way to encourage interest in your product outside of Holden and Ford in this country while enjoying participation and leveraging of our premier motorsport category!!! Maybe Marcos will have a choice when he comes back triumphant beating up on our Yankee mates… |

Why would Toyota get involved and spend millions of dollars to promote their brand when they get millions of dollars of promotion based on speculation. Now thats good marketing

Didn't realise we'd come up to the annual 'other car manufacturers beat-up story' already.
Gee doesn't a year pass by quickly? |

I've said this for years. I reckon every few years the Toyota marketing department get bored and either contact a journo saying they might be interested entering or send someone from Toyota to a round and make sure they get noticed. The daily fish wrappers run a few stories and motorsport publications make it a front page story along with a few artist's impressions of what the car would look like. And not a cent out of Toyota's marketing budget! |
