Norris. A solid drive to get that McLaren up to 7th. Kudos to de Vries for finishing in the points on his F1 debut.

I voted for Nyck de Vries, for what was an outstanding drive to get two points on his debut, and move ahead of Latifi in the championship!

However, watching Williams in that race reminded me a lot of watching Renault in 2011. Whenever Petrov, Heidfeld or Senna went well, I couldn't help but wonder how Robert Kubica would have done in the same situation, and today I was very impressed by de Vries, particularly considering it was his debut, but do wonder how Alex Albon would have got on in that race. I suspect he might have finished 5th-7th depending on whether or not he pitted at the end.

Blame it on he race director. Same goes for marshals. Only allowed on track after de race director made the call.

Honourable mentions to Max Verstappen for his scintillating race pace and Nyck de Vries for an impressive, albeit scrappy at times, debut.

de Vries. What a drive to earn those two points. Hope he gets picked up for a full time drive next year

First off I like to give a cheer for Carlos Sainz. He had a fast car, starting from the back, and it was entertaining to watch.

Considering he has been down for count, and really looked totally lost at sea last race, I want to give a massive shout out to Daniel Ricciardo. He drove well in a car that isn't very great, and kept Gasly behind him for a long time. I think it was heartwarming to see his race craft it still there. He was my runner up.


Nyck de Vries gets my vote though, unsurprisingly. He did extremely well with very little preparation, and I think he should get a drive for 2023.

As I've explained in the TOTR I don't usually bother with the polls, but have decided to make an exception this time. For me, DOTR was Sainz, he made some amaizing (and clean) overtakes and provided the entertainment of the race. A shout out too for Lewis getting to where he was from Plub Last (but he is a multiple WDC!) and to young Nyck de Vries for a a masterful drive taken on a short notice (and apparently no sleep the previous night!)

Another vote for Sainz. He made one move in particular I forget where, super late but controlled. He brought the most excitement to the race too, and for all that I voted for him.

Honourable mention of de Vries too. Very impressive job. This performance is what those who rated him highly were referring too. Bella, where are you?
