Le Mans comes to Leicestershire

A bright sunny morning and Le Mans going around Mallory - it doesn't get much better than this!
The paddock was quite full so Wayne sensibly ran 2 sessions - Saloon & Sports cars out 1st followed by the Single Seaters. With this Sundays 750 meeting in mind it was no surprise to see Locosts/Bike Sports & Kit cars joined by a GT3 911, Group 6 Lola, a 944 a couple of Clios, MG - Midget, B & ZR. a Noble, a unusually gold coloured Lotus Cortina, a mark 2 Escort RS2000 which looked very rally car-ish, a Morgan, assorted TVR's, an M3, a Capri, pairs of XJ's, Saxo's & DB5's and the fastest car of the session by a mile a red 1965 GT40.
What made me think of Le Mans particularly though was the Nissan 88C which was driven in the 1988 le mans 24 Hour Race by: Aguri Suzukui, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Takao Wada, it wasn't particularly quick, doing around a dozen laps before being pushed away.

The single seaters (which included a Sports 2000 and a Caterham Superlite 400), had a very varied mix. Of the 25 or so cars out a good half were Formula Juniors, joined by Simon Hadfield in a Coventry Climax engined Lotus, the ex Walter Wolf (Jody Scheckter) F1 car a couple of Coopers, a Formula Shane and the usual F.Ford 16/18/2000 cars along with the Unipart liveried F3car of Nigel Mansells team mate Kiwi Brett Riley. No major incidents all morning just the usual pull offs and visitors to the gravel.

One I forgot from the tin tops was a Subaru Impreza which was road legal and I followed it out of the circuit.

Nice work if you can get it.
I'm stuck in the metropolis listening to the sound of sirens and police helicopters
Thanks for the pictures.
