With several rec's coming on the market the price will probably be lower than the current owners would be hoping. If Kelly Racing go to 2 cars and Tickford also then there will be plenty of opportunities for prospective buyers to get a cheaper rec than they would have a couple of years ago. A few other movements among the people currently intending to keep their rec's might also see a rearranging of the entry list.It would seem odd for Tickford to go to a 2 car team though after being so desperate to own a 4th rec at the end of last year.

Good question but also if that many RECs come onto the market what will be the value of the Rec? Also how many sponsors are really big enough to continue. I would not be surprised to see fewer cars on the grid.

For SDS to continue on at KR would be a complete waste of her time. It's pretty clear that the money invested in that program is not being put to good use in ensuring she's in competitive equipment.
Any chance TCR Astra, Holden & Ms Page at Harvey Norman & SDS might decamp.

It ranges between zero and zero for the race director and similar roles.

I was told ages ago that there's a payment from supercars to cams that includes providing the race director.

The current race director is a cams employee and draws a salary there, no idea what the value of that might be.

Supercars Trackside reporting that Mark Winterbottom is likely to sign with Team 18 for 2019.

Also said 888 will deploy their staff from Lowndes' car into another area of the business. GT3?

“Likely” might be a stretch...

But imagine, if all the crew on #888 this year were to be redeployed to run Team18 out of the 888 workshops in a full customer deal.

That might be a deal for Mr Winterbottom to seriously consider!

Looks like Charlie will have to cough up some coin if he wants to run up the front.

I think Tickford would be crazy to not sign him a new car coming on board, his knowledge of new cars would be valuable!

With Team 18 running the #97 REC and becoming a two car team?

Tickford may not wish to endure another phase of Winterbottom-centric setups that don't work for any other driver on the team.

That’s a big gamble if Frosty were to switch to Team 18. The team doesn’t seem to be anywhere this year and whilst some people may lay the blame solely at the pilot I’m still not convinced he’s the only factor. Wouldn’t the allure of the new Mustang be hard to ignore?

Maybe Frosty is threatening to go to the dark side in hope of more money or a longer contract with Tickford Racing.

That's probably the reason why, the old fella doesn't want to go anywhere. This is the biggest problem with the boys club that is CAMS and the officiating group. Once they work there way up the chain, they stay and the only chance of moving them is on a gurney.

Those roles aren't paid roles, however those sort of positions have accommodation and travel covered, plus sometimes meals. An old friend was once the National Starter at the Gold Coast Indy and his accommodation and flights got covered for the weekend.

As for the old fella, his position in CAMS sees him remunerated nicely there, and anyone else who might also be on the CAMS books at attends the weekend as an official. I think there's a hand full that do have roles.

All officiating positions are voluntary, and without them meeting like this couldn't happen.

As always, there's a small bunch that are always looking for a way to make a buck from it and every now again try to convince the powers that be that they need paid series officials to unsure a high standard, because they know best.

You are spot on. There is some officials,in certain roles, who get looked after
The powers to be say we all are volunteers.
Well to a point.
Certain "officials" get looked after better than the 99.9% of volunteers.
Accommodation, flights, etc .
and unless you are a part of " the Club" you get squat.
And no one else is allowed to do that job, because they would miss out on the perks.
I have had the same people for the last 18 years in certain roles, that do get the benefits, that the 99.9% of everyday volunteers don't

You just live with it.
