Im thinking it sounds very promising, cant wait to see what the GT entry list looks like. The race is open to GT1, GT2 and GT3 class cars. This combined with A1 GP should be a very good combination IMO. Lets just hope the attendance is good.

Lets hope some Astons and Ferraris turn up, I've been dying to listen to them in the flesh (doubt they are eligable though, aren't they GTR?)

They are eligable, they would be in the GT1 class. We might see a DBR9 or 2 but dont count your chicken's. What we should see are a couple of Saleen S7R's and maybe a Lister Storm in GT1 and perhaps a DBR9, a 550 is unlikely though as there is no British team currently running a Ferrari 550. Expect many of the BGT GT2 regulars to turn up though.

I can't go either. Is the A1 race televised in the UK?

Me neither. Wanted to come, should be a great race to work, but already committed to being Course Observer at Las Vegas for Champ Car.
Enjoy it all who are going. |

I've just bought a tent (£20 good ol Halfords) so i hope the tickets don't sell out just yet as I can't afford them until next week. I think I'm just being paranoid though.

Well looks like we'll be there - look for the marshals post flying the Ireland flag......
As for tickets...... well watch the site announcements very carefully over the next couple of days...... |

I don't think there's any danger of tickets selling out, maximus.

Indeed, no danger. IMO. Im expecting a healthy crowd though, anything from 50,000 - 75,000 is possible. IMO. Although having said that I would love to be proved wrong.

As you can see, there is now a competition exclusive to Tenths which will give you a chance to win tickets!

I think Dr Palmer will be extremely disappointed if the crowd figure is below 50,000.

This is where a terrestrial TV deal would come in handy. Imagine if the BBC had the rights and they were spending the weeks leading up to the event building up to it. And then, on September 25th, live coverage from Brands Hatch presented by Graham Norton and Natasha Kaplinsky.
It needs a big push outside of the specialist media. I imagine that the actual attendance would be somewhere between that quoted by John Miller and that by Stephen Green. |

I hope my hotel has Sky Sports. I'm at Croft for a proper meeting that weekend, but I doubt sell out crowds will be a topic for debate up there.

Can't wait, great line up and using the GP circuit. We will camp at Thriftwood leisure park which is around 2-3 miles away on the A20 and has full facilities, so it's ideal for the women and children.
I would have expected around 30,000, spread out over the GP circuit shouldn't be too busy. I just hope that they can have the PA system up and running out on the loop as things can become a little confusing with safety cars etc. Hopefully good entry for the GT'S with probably plenty of British series runners and perhaps the Belgians and Dutch coming over. We just need to book some decent weather now, unlike Silverstone LMES, not enjoyable that ! |
