1999 Calder ATCC
We all remember Craig Lowndes rollover on the Sunday of that round but it was a big weekend for spectacular crashes.
On the Saturday we had this incident in the second last race of the day involving the Formula Ford of Justin Cotter. http://youtu.be/WGVCEbR73kc Was certainly interesting getting him out of the car on a 45 degree slope while making sure the car didn't slide down the hill any further on us. Probably the biggest air I've seen away from open wheelers in Speedway.
I was in Pit Lane and could see it tumbling over the top of the crowd on the infield not to mention one of the suspension springs ended up in the infield luckily without hitting anything/one in the process. |
